So I was bored this morning before work and sitting drinking a coffee... I started looking into the global windows thing on the mustangs.

The reason the BCM change had no effect is that a second module handles the global open feature. So while the BCM change does need to be made to enable the feature (as yours already is enabled for open), a different module handles the request.

Module 7B7 - BCM-B which is located in the back right side of the trunk, near where the Sony amplifier would be, handles the global window control.

This is code with global open enabled as you already have... the question remains, is there a change which would enable global close as well?

7B7-01-01 0042 0000 02
7B7-02-01 0000 0000 C1
7B7-03-01 0100 0000 C3
7B7-04-01 8500 0000 48
7B7-05-01 1449 3400 55
7B7-06-01 6400 0000 29

If your dash cluster gives the option to disable global open (or sometimes there is a button sequence to press in the owners manual on the door switches), do that and see if something changes in this module BCM-B or if it turns it off on the main BdyCM by making a change on line 726-17-02. Curious which module provides the enable/disable function, even though the BCM-B handles the actual open request which is then sent to the DDM.

Now here is another interesting note... if the mustang doesn't have memory seats... then there isn't even a DDM or PDM handling any window requests... everything goes through the BCM-B.

Additional functions controlled by this BCM-B (contained within the code above):

Ambient lighting
Convertible top
Window function inhibit (convertible)
Luggage compartment lid release inhibit (convertible)
Reverse lamps
Rear stop/turn lamps

- Dan

Edit: So it looks like there is actual wiring on the BCM-B just for global open... I wonder if any other vehicle out there has a BCM-B with global close as well. There are two empty pins right next to the global open wiring, curious if those would be for global close.

After seeing this without significant changes, I am going to say global close is not possible. Would need a special window interface (aftermarket)... such as the DEI 530T connected to a Viper/Python Car Alarm.

For those of you guys that haven't bought the OBDLink MX device yet, www.scantool.net (manufacturer's website) has the same price as Amazon for both wifi and bluetooth models and offers a 10% off coupon for subscribing to their e-mail list. It also has priority shipping free for the bluetooth and wifi models. Anyone have any recommendations on wifi vs. bluetooth?

I believe the link you want is https://www.scantool.net/obdlink/ - the .com has no e-commerce store.

i'd say go for bluetooth, as it doesn't require wifi, only direct bluetooth connection.

I'll just have to make sure my MacBook Pro (that's running windows in BootCamp) has a bluetooth driver before I buy it, thanks!

np, when I used to sell those they definitely had bluetooth. you'd have to have a 2012+ model.

if yours is older, you can get a bluetooth dongle. you'd be able to use the mx anywhere.

Has anyone found a way to convert the digital oil temp gauge from a "dummy" needle gauge to one that will show actual temps (like the trans temp, inlet air temp and head temp)?
I don't believe the car has an actual oil temperature sensor so this won't be possible. It uses the oil pressure and RPMs to infer the temperature and thus the dummy gauge is all you can get.

Also, is there a way to remove the 3mph or less speed limit from SYNC? So you can connect Bluetooth or read messages while you're moving?
In for this

Or have the Nav system let you type in an address while moving. Is that a US thing or is it everywhere? I have an aftermarket unit that lets me enter destination anytime; but my wife's Jeep has that same safety feature.

Also, if we could change the restriction, so I can put down my vert top while driving 70 MPH on the turnpike. That would be great.....:eyebulge:

dan said you have to have remote start, btw.

keep an eye on this thread to see if it works for the fusion

http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4573&page=13
My car has remote start. I just hope that that memory block represents the same feature on our cars. (And it works...)

you have to be a terrible driver for that to fuck you up.
That's true! But, apparently, there are some of those around. And someone always has a camera handy to prove it, unfortunately. I don't want to be like 80 and rollin' in my wheel chair and have someone dive into the bushes as I pass by because they know I used to drive a Mustang. Or have to get a special Mustang drivers license at the DMV because they are deemed hazardous to onlookers. And then have to take a bunch of psychological and genetic tests to prove I'm not a direct descendant of Lucifer and/or don't have random thoughts of running over innocent people.

I know this was brought up already, especially early in the thread by another member, and I frowned on one of the requests but after seeing it in action, I have to admit its not what I expected when it was mentioned.

It was asked about the Sequential Braking light, and Sequential Hazzard. I was for the Sequential Hazzard, but was against the Sequential Braking, but after having seen that its not what I thought it was going to be, I actually am for it.

Diode Dynamics makes the driver to do this, but my question now is can we do this without the 3rd party add-on? Or is the driver in DD's unit thats needed, I only ask is cause since we have Sequential Signals I would think the driver is the same and its just code being changed in the as-built. DanMc85, Any thoughts?

You are right. The car does not have an oil temp sensor. It is an inferred value, but it still has a quatified value associated with it. It should be possible to see that value. I'm hoping one of the 16+ performance package guys try the GT350 oil temp and rear diff temp info from the GT350. If not, I will eventually.

Not sure... I don't have any experience with the sequential tail lights on a mustang... however if you are going to explore. I would focus on the BCM-B as that is what controls them, if you look up a bit in the global window close post I made, there is a little more info on it.
