So next time you want to completely copy and jack my thread WORD FOR WORD... you should ask! That thread post took forever to write...
All my found BCM codes... etc. It's not polite to just take stuff... many of them like the fog lights with high beams took hours to figure out.

Just saying...

Here is the original: http://www.2gfusions.net/showthread.php?tid=4573

The only guys who I have ever collaborated with so far are the F-150 guys... and they spoke to me first.

:headbonk:

Carry on with your thread... and if any of you are inclined, feel free to donate for my mods and there are more on the fusion page.
Wow, seriously Dan? Did you even read the beginning? Let me point it out to you:

The rest of this guide I cannot take credit for, its from a user on another forum for a completely different ford car, but yet alot of the codes are similar across the fleet. This guide was made by "DanMc85" All credit goes to him for this guide and getting me started to look.

And yes you worked on fusions, no doubt and have done probably a great job, and the 150 forums, but you didn't try these on a mustang, I did, again read what is in bold, I take credit for trying them out on a car that no one else has, I'm the one that's trying to bring in more people to help the cause, and your going to blast me for giving you credit and then ask for a donation, cause I gave you credit? Funny normally people get steamed when you CLAIM work as your OWN when is not, not when you give credit where it's due. And it's funny I posted on forscan about something I was trying to find and you told ME to pm you and after two pms you basically blew me off, but yet I gave you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't have time. Boy times have changed since my hacking days of computers and being given credit where it's due, now it's all about money.

Sorry about the rant guys but I guess bringing more people in for the cause no longer applies and helping people out means nothing, it's about the bottom dollar.

I saw you gave me credit in your post and I appreciate that... just would have preferred you asked before just copying and pasting my entire guide before doing so. - This is what my post was about...

Also not sure where you're going with the money thing. I never do anything for a bottom dollar or charge a fee... I share my stuff openly with my fusion community and some members chose to offer donations for doing so. You're welcome to also go sit in your car for hours/days on end in your spare time figuring out what all those hexadecimal values do.

Either way... carry on. Not going to fight about this, just was irritated when I saw it. Hope you find some good stuff for your mustang.

Saw the link on the page and now I am definitely picking one of these up. Originally, I wanted to datalog through mountain runs and autocross and sync with videos and overlays. But if I can disable the goddamn honk when i leave the car with it running when my keys are in my pocket, I'll pay whatever haha. So I like to smoke a cig when the car warms up...

It would be nice to adjust the sensitivity as to which the gauge cluster dims its lights as well. Mainly at dusk times where you turn on the running lights for the morons, yet their is still enough sunlight for you to need glasses but the gauges dim. It may be covered, haven't dug through it yet.

Hey Dan, I'm not here to fight either, but your guide is in more places then you think by others. I don't doubt you didn't spend endless hours, no doubt you didn't spend endless days, but in the ethnic code of hacking in my time (which still is now partly) you give credit where it's due and share info, if the person stops working on a project or you improve on it, then you ask permission to continue their work or ask for permission to improve on it and post it.

No one is taking away what you have accomplished, but had you read through the replies you would have seen the guide a couple of replies down was linked to your original thread. And about the money part, coming here hot headed and saying

Carry on with your thread... and if any of you are inclined, feel free to donate for my mods and there are more on the fusion page. is.

How about looking at it as your work helped another community and instead of flying here in rage, how about give a little direction. The idea here is to get more people involved to lighten the load and have more people help each other out. Just like you asked me to pm you, you said try this, which I did and came back and said it didn't work, then I told you I did some comparing and asked what your thought was on it, I got radio silence, was that helpful to someone who is trying to learn to help another community? I'm sure you don't have a Ford fleet, and I'm sure it never crossed your mind that allot of the codes are the same across more then just the fusion and f-150. So since you made it a point to come to this forum to rant and blow of steam, how about instead knowing your being acknowledged for your work, give some simple pointers to help others along like myself and others, I'm sure all this info didn't just come to you in a flash of light, as my knowledge of computers didn't come to me in the same bolt.

We're all on the same side, to help one another, your work is now helping the mustang community, isn't that enough gratification, knowing your work helped another community?

So instead of derailing interest how about encouraging the process.

Heh I love this Dan guy. Making a public forum post then gets mad when it gets reposted even though credit is given. Hey buddy you're posting stuff on a public forum! If you wanted to keep it private, should have done it from the beginning. Coming here asking for donations, that's pretty good. You're super lucky someone didn't jack your guide and take credit for it themselves and start selling it, people like that exist in this world. You could take your fusion guide down now on your forums, if you're not going to help the mustang community were good to go here without you. Dodging PMs from angel is super salty. Either help or bye.

I don't think he was really asking for donations. Seemed like sarcasm to me.

For sure when something is posted in a forum that anyone can read, I don't see anything wrong with re-posting if credit is given.

But it would have been nice if the re-post included a link to the original and the originator received a heads-up if practical.

I don't think AngelDeath did anything really wrong although he would have earned a steel hanky from Politeness Man.

Dan is the nicest guy.. and he put a ton of work into it.. I don't think he is getting mad..

He has been helping.. he has answered questions.. this takes a TON of time.. there are 60 something lines in the BCM... it is not easy.. he went through a lot of work.. any of us that do this do.. he spent a ton of time going through it all and made it public.. the donations were done for him.. he actually has accumulated a good amount of money from people that find the value in his input..
There are many people that have benefitted from his work.. most of whom would have never figured it out.. most of you on here wouldn't have even looked at it if it weren't for this post.. its not fair to go after him.. he has helped a lot of fusion guys and others.. I just think when someone posts of coarse they will know its accessible to others.. but still.. maybe a heads up to them that you'll be posting it in another forum so they can get involved and offer anything they have..

I talk to Dan daily almost.. he has always been as cool as can be.. and we only met because he bought a Sync 3 upgrade from me..

He has learned a lot and spent a lot of time doing this.. I don't think anyone knows how much work is involved in going through hex as built data and flipping through and discovering what does what,.... thats a huge undertaking for 60 plus lines with 16 values per bit.. and 6 bits per line.. give me a break if anyone would go through all of that work and then offer it FOR FREE??? He has

Thanks to any and all who have had anything to do with the subject matter....much appreciated.

Now, having said that, a digital speedo would be great.

Thanks for the great info, I've had my OBDLink MX WiFi for a year now just for telemetry while using Harry's LapTimer and just found this thread showing we can use it to modify as built data using it as well. Love It! I just did the hi beam/fog light mod and it worked perfectly. I was going to turn the double honk off but my codes look slightly different. I have 726-41-02 0001 0000 0071 in my car now. the excel sheet says I should have 001 001 0072 for enabled. I haven't tried to change the value yet, has anyone else seen this? I'm going to try and change it to 0000 0001 0071 and see if it works.

FYI I punched in the disable code that's in the excel sheet for 0726-41-02 0000 0001 0071 and it did disable the double honk in my car, no idea why my enabled code is different.

Thanks
Larry
