Thanks for the great info, I've had my OBDLink MX WiFi for a year now just for telemetry while using Harry's LapTimer and just found this thread showing we can use it to modify as built data using it as well. Love It! I just did the hi beam/fog light mod and it worked perfectly. I was going to turn the double honk off but my codes look slightly different. I have 726-41-02 0001 0000 0071 in my car now. the excel sheet says I should have 001 001 0072 for enabled. I haven't tried to change the value yet, has anyone else seen this? I'm going to try and change it to 0000 0001 0071 and see if it works.

FYI I punched in the disable code that's in the excel sheet for 0726-41-02 0000 0001 0071 and it did disable the double honk in my car, no idea why my enabled code is different.

Thanks
Larry
The last two bytes are a checksum, they change once you make the changes to data.

Would this be able to increase throttle response? I get a half second delay on my manual that is nerve wreckingly awful.

Also, if anyone in the West Kentucky tri-state has this, I'll pay you $20 just to turn off my damn double honk on removed key fob thing!

I don't want to hijack the thread, but how does one get personal wallpapers on sync 2?
Sync2 allows you to upload photos in several different types of formats, including .jpg, .gif, .png, and .bmp. There is a file size limit of 1.5mb and can hold up to 32 pictures total. The optimal resolution for a photo on MyFord Touch is 800×384

Uploading Pictures:
1.Onec you have downloaded or created the wallpapers based on above information, take a blank USB drive (FAT32 format only) and copy the wallpapers you wish to upload in your car.
2.Insert USB device into the USB port and select “Menu” on the screen. (Located at the top of the screen)
3.Select “Display” and “Edit Wallpaper”
4.Click “Add” and select what files you wish to upload on you vehicle.
5.Once uploaded these wallpapers will be available to select and set as background.

Yes It is possible.

If you have a Laptop with bluetooth or wifi and the obd mxlink unit, I can do it by remote access to your laptop, and you dont have to pay me.

I was hoping someone would've already made that purchase for the devices :headbonk: but if I end up investing into it I'll shoot you a PM, thank you!

But will he have to pay you to regain control of his laptop?

I just took apart my ELM327 and added the MS-CAN to it! I didn't use any switch I just made a home made toggle with 2 cables lol. It's a little messi though... I can't wait to mess around with the coding of the car :D

Black cables are 6 & 14 from the device
Green cables are 6 & 14 (HS-CAN)
Blue cables are 3 & 11 (MS-CAN)
White cables are the toggle switch. I just move them on either green or blue to switch mode.

Has anyone found the coding for EU-style tail light operability versus US-style tail light operation (for the independent amber light on the outboard)?

larry, so you changed '0726-41-02 0001 0000 0071' to '0726-41-02 0000 0001 0071' and that worked? Want to keep spreadsheet correct. Perhaps it is just that bit value of 1 on the 4th byte that changes the double honk.
