Changed oil yesterday and noticed the oil filter from the last change was a little taller than the new filter. Same brand and part number. Doubt the size diff is enough to matter, just found it interesting. Has anyone else come across this?

My neighbor is a supplier to shops so I buy my filters by the case and I've have a few times when Wix changed the shape/size of filters over time. He said it's to cut down on inventory. Basically if they change the shape a little (thinner, shorter etc) they can make it fit more applications.

Yeah, I figured it was something like that.

Are you still using the M1-212A oil filter? Any issues. I’ve got a 2022 M1 5.0 and currently using Motorcraft oil and filter. I was consider changing to Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic and the m1-212A filter.

4.5 year old thread, and I haven't seen any of these guys posting around here lately.

Yep, still using mobil 1 filters and oil, 5w30. I also add a bottle of ceratec with every change to keep the ticks away. All that has been working great on the street, at autocross and on the track.
