Noticed but definitely don't think it is a passable look for me. Just looks a little unfinished to me. Almost like the bumper is still too bare. Now if only I could find a way to put those on the new diffuser, and rock an RTR look alike....

really wish they would take the existing diffuser and add a cutout for the exhaust on either side so base cars can fit quads.....looks like it wouldn't be very ifficult from a design standpoint and there has to be a decent sized market for this.

I would love that. But it is not possible because the bumper is 1 piece.

Anyone get their PM answered? Starting to think we should just call the customer service line and see if we can get one replaced through a rep...

Received my diffuser today. Below are a few pictures. I'm not really impressed with the design in person. There is clearly no support in the middle and MMD could have easily added 4 more mounting points to help keep this item on the car.

Right under the reverse light it looks like I could drill two more hole and use the existing hardware on the car to secure it, however, I am worried that the diffuser is going to be too brittle and crack if I do that. I really like this product but extremely disappointed in the mounting technique used. I test fitted it to the car and it doesn't seem to fit very well. It will require a lot of bending and stretching of the diffuser to position it correctly. I really like the look of this product but feel at $199 there could have been more engineering put into this, especially since MMD revised the mold.

I just put my car up for the winter and its cold here in MI so I think I'm going to wait until it gets warmer to try and attached the 3M tape to my car to ensure a better adhesion.

Damn...looks like the same as the old design... :( meaning the air pocket once mounted towards the rear of the diffuser is still there.

cmylxgo any possibility of taking pictures of the v-shaped bends? Supposedly, those are thicker. :ninja:

Just a shitty, stick on part with no real thought behind it. So frustrating.

I don't think you will hear anything sadly Spikey. Seems like a re-release of the same thing.

I installed the diffuser this afternoon and I am not happy with how this piece attaches to the car. I followed the 4 step directions and it did not fit nor did anything line up. I held the unit in place like the directions said and drilled my holes. I attached the push pins and was just about to pull the sticky tape and noticed it would have buckled and gaps would have been seen. I removed the pins and lined up under the backup light and worked my way out to the end on the driver side. Doing so, neither one of my drilled holes lined up any more. The left side looks to have stuck in the right spots but when I went to the passenger side it was much lower on the rear bumper than the driver side. When I tried to force the diffuser up I could see it start to buckle and deform. So I stuck it lower as to not put stress on the diffuser in hopes it won't crack like the first gen. The passenger side tab hole is not even in a spot that I could attach it. To remedy this situation I added additional 3M tape in every spot the diffuser touches the stock bumper cover. I have ZERO faith this thing will last more than a few months. This thing is pure junk IMO and a waste of $200.

The only positive thing is that it does look amazing on my car sitting in the garage. As long as I never drive my car I'm sure I will have countless years of enjoyment looking at the ASS END of my car.

Here are a few pics of before and after. Due to only having 2 hours of sunlight this time of year the after pics are a little dark. The car is now under it's cover and tucked away for the winter.

LONG POST BUT WORTH THE READ. Seems like most people are pessimistic about the changes to this product. Maybe you shouldn't! Essentially, the corners of the product had their radius increased.

This means two things: the angle between the two sides of the part became more rounded, and inherently this means that the plastic became somewhat thicker in that spot when molten plastic was molded on the machine (y'all I spent hours trying to decode what Will said earlier).

You see, when the product is made in the machine, molten plastic is injected into a mold. Plastics 101 dictates that hard, sharp, corners should be avoided. Every place where the plastic changes direction, the corner should be as rounded as possible. This helps energy dissipate and not form stress points. Additionally, when a mold has a sharp edge, the molten liquid naturally settles out thinner around that point and makes it vulnerable.

Chances are the product looks and feels the same; the changes are microscopic. Have faith y'all... assuming MMD didn't blatantly lie (don't think they would), we should be at least better off. I would have loved a diffuser that sat flush... but assuming the corners are more round and thick than previously, I can sleep at night.
