So, for what with worth, I went out today for the 4th time this week, but the first time in full sun. Hey, there IS a Ford logo there. But, damn, it's hard to see.

Now admit it. Don't you feel like an idiot for looking over and over until you finally saw it? I know I did.:cwl::crackup::beer:

Pretty much. I mean, I haven''t seen the freaking thing in a year of owning the car, so I'm not sure what the point of it is.

As luck would have it;
....Thursday, last week the wife and I were riding the Mustang for a food run.
On the way back home, I passed a car and 'stretched out' the Mustang.

A few miles on down the road, an 'object' came out of nowhere and
cracked my windshield.
Wifey called insurance when we got home and told of the event.
Not to worry, they said. It is covered.
OK says I; however (thinking of this thread) Make SURE that I get a
windshield with a FORD logo.

No problem, the girl says. Back like it was. Won't cost me a dime........
Tech came yesterday and installed my NEW windshield; same as stock.

FORD logo................

Mine has the logo as well as the safe & smart. When I took delivery in April of last year the dealer had to replace the windshield with an OEM glass because the glass had a crack in it. Delayed delivery by a week because it had to be a Ford glass.
that had to suck, you buy a new car and it’s already damaged before delivery. One thing I have noticed is all these new cars have flaws.

Correct, Safelight does not make the Mustang glass, the manufacturer they use for aftermarket is FUYAO. I had a discussion with Safelite about it when I had my windshield replaced.

My statement is correct, FUYAO is Safelite aftermarket glass but not exclusive I imagine.

In other words, when you go to Safelite and they ask if you want the Ford logo for an extra 100, and you say no, you get FUYAO glass.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuyao
Fuyao - Wikipedia
Fuyao Glass Industry Group Co., Ltd. It is one of the largest auto glass producers in the world
to each is own, not sure what I’d do... however is it seems like people are paying for these windshields out of pocket... better option than insurance?

We are both right. I may have misunderstood you post.

Safelite replacement glass is made by FUYAO. In addition to making glass for Safelite they are also factory OEM manufacturers for other car companies.

By the way if it is only $100.00 I'd go factory everyday.
I would also.

You can wipe your arse with 100 dollar bills until your anus resembles Ben Fanklin, it makes no difference to me. :)

The OEM glass chipped and cracked within minutes while driving down the highway. I decided to go with aftermarket primarily because it was a different manufacturer, saving 100 dollars was a bonus. If this glass is going to crack after a chip, things will get exensive. I found similar threads of cracks appearing in front of your eyes.

When I asked about the aftermarket windshield they explained that they use FUYAO glass, hence the reason I know that FUYAO is the aftermarket glass used by Safelite.

Literally the next day after windowshield replacement my wife took the car to work and called me from the office, there was a chip in the new windshield above line of sight. I was able to get the car back to safelite in the next couple of days for a chip repair.
damn that’s an expensive glass bill.

By the way,
....the tech did tell me that he has replaced windshields on new cars on the
lot that had rust around the windshield area. (mine didn't)

Don't know if that would be a problem, but..............:whew:

I’m not sure when Ford changed the badge on the screen but mine is more prominent than the pre facelifts I have seen :

Wish my car had that, so I could remove it. Now it's freaking embedded into the black dots. The only way to obscure it would be to lay a piece of black wrap over it.

I don’t think it can be removed - it’s all internal and looks integral to the black border :like:

I like the logo in that spot, looks good. Not sure if I prefer mine, or your more prominent version.

Looks good though, there should be an oval somewhere on the exterior.

I prefer a deleted "Ford" windshield logo so I'll see if this custom sticker option covers it without looking too tacky.

I had to get my windshield replaced last year due to a 2” rock, and the new one from Safelite did not have the logo. When I inquired, they told me “yes we can get an OEM windshield if you want, but you won’t like the cost”. So I relented. Thing is, I think the non OEM is functionally better. It seems to have more clarity, even months down the road. I could never get the old one perfectly clean. It was the worst, just perpetual smudges. My wife even commented positively about the new one without me saying a thing. Do I miss the logo? Nope, never.
