Have a 19 gt a10 that all of a sudden developed a miss at idle ,under load it runs fine, the car just turned 18k but before it goes to the dealer was trying to see if there was a simple solution.

Any codes? Is it tuned?.. before you take it to the dealership check your plugs..

Describe what you mean by a miss. A small skip or a significant dip in idle rpm?

you can audibly hear it in the exhaust and feel it in the car, almost like a pop in the exhaust.

Hey Dominant1, could you show oil pressure at the time of the dips? We know it's the intake (BorgWarner) phasers, but what's exactly defective? And could it be oil pressure differences? I noticed oil pressure is quite low at idle on my car. That's probably why Gen3s are prone to the infamous 'tick' because of that. My car doesn't have either issue yet with 3K miles on M1 0/30 oil; hope it stays that way. Wondering what exactly is the issue with the oiling on the intake phasers. Thank you for posting that video.

I have a gen2 coyote so i don't have the problem. I think the guy in the video said that what solved his problem is switching over to 5/50 synthetic motor oil. That viscosity is what I’ve always used.. the brand i use is “Driven”, which is specifically designed for coyote engines.

check engine light finally came on ,p0301 going to the dealer to let them handle it.

I just took my 19 mt82 to the dealership for the 6th time for rough idle, misfire (p0300 and p0316) and oil pressure light coming on. Started at 3,800 miles now has 7800, I am beyond frustrated with ford.

Yeah that’s cylinder 1 misfire, they’ll fix that with a crank relearn if that cylinder isn't down on compression.

With multiple misfires and an oil pressure light coming on, you may be in for a long haul with a new motor from Ford..keep us posted..
