so my car has been at the dealer since Dec. 16th for the low compression on cylinder 1. The dealer has put a new head on it didn't fix the problem, now a short block ,it was supposed to be ready last Monday but they called me and told me it still had low compression on cylinder 1 and was a little low on cylinder 2 . I asked how could this be with a new short block ,they have no idea , I have started a buy back process, 23 weeks is to long and now they are just throwing parts at it. This is the 1st ford I have ever owned and probably the last.
That’s just ridiculous. You would think just replace the motor. Better for the customer and cheaper in the long run.

well lifters didn't fix it ,new injectors didn't fix it, new coils didn't fix it ,the techs that are working on it have no clue ,so right now it's a new short block, new head on the passenger side and it still has a miss with low compression on 1 cylinder. I have started the buy back process or a complete engine so we will see.

That’s ridiculous. Way too long for them to monkey around. Did they tell you what the compression actually was? I don’t understand if the compression was down, why they didn’t just put in a new long block right off the bat. Good luck with this!

Sorry to hear it ... I'd be seriously angry

Ford is refusing the buy back based on South Carolina lemon laws but my argument is that this isn't a lemon law thing it's a they can't fix it thing. I went by the dealership Friday and spoke with the tech ,he said he has no idea what's wrong with it , he said he has spoken with Ford engineers and done everything they said do still nothing.

I had to get an attorney to get Ford to acknowledge an issue. I ended up settling with them, wish I would have done the buyback they offered now though

Uhhh, your car is a lemon as defined. The lemon laws certainly would apply. What is the specific thing about So. Carolina laws?

So it looks like you are covered only under the power train warranty then. Ford could still do a buyback, but they don't have to.

At the very least they are bound to try yet another motor unless they don't want to spend more time and money and do a buy back.

P0316, P0300, low oil pressure light coming on starting around 4k miles. Buyback was denied 3 times until I got an attorney, at that point the car had a new engine so I opted for a settlement.

I went to the dealer with evidence of low oil pressure after the 3rd attempt at one dealership and they didn't believe me. After 6 attempts to repair they finally cut the filter and found debris, dropped the pan and found a lot of metal. I started a thread about it if you search for "low oil pressure".

So ford decided to put a complete engine in my car ,got it back and it is running fine, now I have several issues cropping up ,advanced trac needs service ,drive mode selection not available, hill start assist not available which is funny because my car doesn't have hill start assist. The worst thing is that the cruise control doesn't want to disengage unless I hit the brakes hard, ,when this happened if there had been a car in front of me I would have hit them.

Park it and call the dealer for the hook.

Probably flashed the wrong tune when they swapped motors.

Check all the grounding points in the engine bay especially by the passenger side strut tower.
