You should be able to hook with any decent tire. I would suggest the Toyo R888R and even that is going to be over kill for your power levels. No need to get MT Street Rs. Would be a waste.

End goal is supercharger. At least 750whp.

Once you supercharge it sure. Grab some MT Street SS tires on a 17 inch rim. Steeda or similar stop the hop kit and you should be golden at 750.

Still don't need Rs or drag radials at 750. Just better suspension. It will provide far more reliable traction.

Any suspension mods? My PS4S hook from a dead stop nearly everytime on E85...
None. Only e85. Pp1
I don’t think anyone was asked yet, but the fact that peoples experiences seem to vary wildly leads me to think somethings amiss with your alignment - has it been checked ?

Gripper tyres might just be an unnecessary band aid to hide a problem lying elsewhere :like:

My super sports don't hook from a dead stop lmao. And I have a decent alignment. I also have a 6r80 with 3.15 so first gear long as hell. Even spun on the strip with and without a burnout.

Stop the hop kits and better suspension could definitely help. But these cars seem to be tire-eating monsters. 2018+ have better traction control tho and I've noticed them doing better with worse tires from digs. I say get the meaty tire, if you are going to supercharge anyway, no harm if its overkill.

There is a reason you see even EcoBoost owners spinning from a light roll and crashing. Mustangs are known as crowd killers for a reason.

Also I have heard R888R lose their stickiness fast and become hard quick.

I have the bmr stuff in the rear and mine is planted. It takes me playing with the brake pedal to do a burnout and even then the rear stays controllable. I would be looking into some bushings and etc.

Might be worth consideration- I bought some kumho ecsta ps91 on sale in 265/35r20 and 295/35r20. On a stock power '22 gt with a 10r80 and 3.55s, they hook first gear and will only chirp into 2nd if the car is in drag mode. Very surprised with these tires for only 750 bones a set. Perform better than previous 555g2s I had on a 2016 gt...

I've read a lot of threads and getting mix answers. I have a 2020 Mustang GT 10r80, pp1, e85 only with 10k miles. Still has a lot of life on the PS4s. 40 roll 2nd to 3rd it would fish tail hard. I read on forums that the ps4s performs really good, but to my experience it's not gripping at all in this 80 degree weather when the 10r80 shift from 2nd to 3rd (WOT). I'm guessing tire should be warm enough after driving 20 minutes. I do not daily this car. It's a weekend car and mexico nights. Is the nitto 555r2 going to have the same issue or will it grip?

edit: i will not take the car for spirit driving on corners. If anything with corners i will be going speed limit or slower.

Update @ 8/10/22 1:16PM. A youtuber mustang gt e85/header with 275/40/19 nitto 555r2 on his stock black accent wheels confirm it works "great" from roll. I assume that answer means it wont' fish tail like the PS4S i have on atm.
2020-2022 GT500 Base all have the PS4S as well and it puts the power down beautifully. A little bit of spin going through the gears but barely noticeable. Now the GT500 tires are 315 in the rear but given the horse power difference I think yours should be fine as well.

Sounds to me more like a suspension issue that would ideally be addressed with some of these: https://www.americanmuscle.com/mustang-wheel-hop.html

I have read your thread. When comparing Nitto NT555 G2 so với Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, the winner in my heart is Pilot Sport 4S. Although Nitto NT555 G2 is a Japanese budget tire that can provide excellent driving for less-powered sports cars. But I prefer Michelin, I would like to enjoy the full potential of high-powered sports cars and I think I won’t go wrong with it.
