I got to play with both at Mustang Week. I don't like the way MGW changed the lock out. But I do have an MGW on my T-5 in my '66. Both are very high quality shifters. For me it would be the decision of stock reverse lock out, or push down.
Barton also offers different spring tensions. Their standard springs seemed a little tight for an every day driver that you are going to rowing lots of gears on in heavy traffic. They will provide reduced spring tension if requested.
The MGW looks great installed, but I may just wait to see what the Hurst shifter looks like installed. Something about Hurst just brings me back to my days of working on my Dad's 72'.
