Hello everyone, I recently got a 2020 Mustang GT Premium standard package. I love the sound of the V8 but I would love to amplify it. Now I am familiar with corsa and borla, as well as roush, but those are on the higher end so I was looking at MBRP. But I cannot decide on The Street Version or Race . I do want a loud V8 that can be noticed on the road while cruising , and nice deep cold starts every morning . But I also don’t want to be that person getting all the attention by cops. Or being hated by my neighbors. I do daily this car and I do construction so I always head out my house around 5-6 AM. What shall I do? I’ve only heard on videos of these setups but you know it does no justice. So I cannot decide, and I want to avoid drone as much as possible.

You want street then. I have it. It sounds gutteral and muscle car-y below 4000rpm with a good but not obnoxious volume level. Cold starts are borderline obnoxious but entertaining. Above 4000rpm at WOT it has an angry scream and the volume gets pretty ridiculous. But in a fun way. The premium exhausts have better tone up top, but I like the overall combo of this one.

Race on the other hand just sounds like ultra rasp and its absolutely obnoxious at all times. I don't hate it. But you definitely need to not care about anyone else šŸ˜‚

I also recommend spending the extra coin on the stainless steel version.

Installing a cat back Race one with Active exhaust control on Tuesday. Can report back after that.

The Race will also tend to drone where the Street should not.

I thought I was having the MBRP Street installed, but the Race version got installed instead. I'm happy with it.

I have variable exhaust, so it starts in quiet mode before 9:00 am. (It does start rather loud otherwise.😼) It's my daily driver, and I haven't noticed any drone.

AWE Touring sounds fantastic on the 2018+ also. A little higher price point like Borla and Corsa. It is similar to the MBRP in that they both have an H pipe vs the others that have X pipes. For MBRP the street sounds really good and isn’t over the top loud. My neighbor has the race on his 2018 and it’s too loud for me (and I like some volume on V8’s).

First thing I did was to get rid of the MBRP race that came on the car. Very loud cold starts, a bit too loud of an idle for anywhere other than the strip, obnoxious driving around town, horrible drone. Replaced with AWE touring. Very pleased with the AWE exhaust.

OP, what each of us lusts for in exhaust tone is too subjective. You can't know what you'll like just because someone else likes this or that.

Go early to some car shows, and when a Mustang rolls in that sounds good to you, ask the driver what you're hearing. We all love to brag. You'll discover good options that way.

Sounds like you want the MBRP Street series. We sell them here at www.lethalperformance.com!
mbrp <--- link for MBRP exhausts.

Give me a shout if you have any questions!

Based on your info sounds like the street is what you would want want.Enclosed is street on cold start w revs. Is in garage obviously so it will amplify it some. Idle warm up its very tame but it will for sure get loud when your on it. Theres also no drone whatsoever
