Seems like the Win Win IMO....I have heard the race in person and think it sounds good, Possibly louder than my SW setup hard to tell.

They really are just sound difference, cat backs in general are for sound, you shouldn't purchase one for power, you may get a couple, but go for sound

we have the best deals out there on mbrp, pm for code!
So why not get an axle back instead?

the cat backs delete the resonator as well

we do have some customers that do the corsa and borla and roush axle backs that just want a little more

Well it looks like the MBRP cat backs are cheaper than most of the competitions axel backs. So they look like a good value. So they are moving to the top of my list.

How compatible are the various headers with the various cat back systems?

most have factory connect to bolt right up to the cat backs

we usually recommend the sw, sp, or kooks if your doing a full cat back

if your doing an axle back, I really like the arh , because it deletes the resonator and the fact connection point

I have the MBRP street with about 3k miles on them. Cold starts are loud but after warm up idle is just louder than stock. The deep sounds stays up to 3500 RPM's then gets raspy. I live outside of Chicago if you want to hear it. As I'm also thinking of selling these setup and get something louder. People say they hear me pulling up but I'm looking for louder at idle mostly.

the aluminized version yes. not the black stainless steel one. The black stainless steel 3" catback listed at CJ pony parts is $639.99. so yeah, youd be saving $189.00
stainless steel will be around long after the aluminized one has corroded and is in pieces.

btw, aluminum goes for $569.00

I love my black race setup! It is a bit loud but as far as I know we all bought a muscle car and this is what it should sound like IMO. Installation was fast and easy, I wouldn't even consider paying 2X as much for any other system.

Does anyone have working knowledge of the sound difference between these two exhausts? I assume the race version will be louder but i am wondering how extreme the difference is. I am looking for a deep tone, noticeably louder than stock but not obnoxious. Which system would be right for me?
What you described is the street. I installed it Sunday. Couldn't be happier. I went back and forth on the street v race. Glad I went with street.
