I went on a pony run/cruise today and twice now I've gotten the message Out of map data area proceed with caution! This is why I carry my Garmin I just can't trust the Ford navigation to get me where I'm going.Ok rant over:)

Like Timeless said: Update to Sync Version 3.0 and use Waze for navigation. Much better that way

I was just out of my familiar area on the 4th. Wanted to get onto a familiar road from an unfamiliar one. Thought I'd just put "Home" into my Sync 3 Ford Nav.

Nope! It basically said I couldn't get there from here. So I pulled over, plugged my phone into the car, and G-mapped it. Instantly found the correct road to get me onto the highway.

Ford's Nav was the worst $800 I spent on this car. I want my money back!

Is it just outdated?

My 3 or 4 month old 2018 shipped with outdated maps. I was a bit disappointed by that.

Although I think they are Here based and in my previous car they actually worked quite well in remote areas without cell connection, even for POIs.
