Magneride and R spacers

Since my R is expected to be delivered in the next couple of weeks, I have a question that I'm hoping someone can answer. I've seen lots of posts on this, but couldn't find definitive confirmation.

I'd like to have the dealer leave the front and rear shock / spring spacers installed so that it's easier to load and transport in my trailer, but I'm not sure if there is any re-calibration or programming of the Magneride system required once the spacers are removed.

Can anyone confirm if, as part of the regular PDI on an R, the dealer does anything except remove those - i.e., once removed, do they have to do some sort of re-calibration or programming of the shocks?

My R was delivered with the front spring spacers and rear shock spacers not removed and I finally figured out why she rode so bad....

I removed and called the dealer. They said no re-programing but I asked them to confirm with Ford. Hope to get an answer soon.

There is no need for calibration. I remember one case where it was driven an extended amount of time and it needed to go back to the dealer for calibration, but we're talking a thousand miles or so. Mine stayed in for a week while at the detail shop.

Thanks for this discussion Chris. It raises a question in my mind IF there is any reason to be concerned about trailering an R for several hundred miles with out the spacers? Is there any reference in the owners manual about trailering an R?
Planning on picking up ours this weekend.

Just thinking that they may still be installed on the one we are getting. It only has 96 miles on the clock.

The spacers increase the ride height, so it makes it easier to load.

Even with the splitter off an race ramps to smooth out the transition into the trailer, I'm looking for all the advantage I can get.

Enough to get the R up and onto the rail car and a commercial car hauler, which has its own clearance issues.

My trailer isn't going to present much of a problem, but the extra height will certainly be a benefit. Using a 24' enclosed.

Shortly after taking delivery of GR107 I had to return to the dealership for recalibration of the MagneRide dampers.

No issues with HR019 that way and based on discussions with many other R model owners I would think that you will be just fine and suggest that my 2016 R was a unicorn in that respect.

Even if you have a fault code issue any Ford dealership that is part of the Shelby GT350/R program would be able to handle for you at no charge.

I had my spacers on and did not know it for a few hundred miles. Took them off and there was no need for recalibration
