Mach 1 / handling package wheels / certification

Hi

Does anyone have European certificate for Mach 1 handling package wheels???
I bought them with the car, but apparently they not accepted in Europe whiteout security certificate.
Apparently it doesn’t have to be from my country I can translate it and they accept it…
Ford won’t give me one… because those wheels are available only in US market, for Europe they certified other type of wheels (not so wide)
I already have all the handling package elements on my car, and on those European wheels car don’t look so beefy.
Can someone help??

Sorry I don't understand what exact certification you're looking for but if it's TUV, it's likely Ford didn't bother getting that particular certification if they didn't plan on marketing or selling that wheel in Europe. However, any wheel manufactured and sold by legitimate companies will pass some type of SAE, JIS, TUV (etc?) quality and/or test standard and possibly attach it with a sticker or stamp it right into the wheel itself. You would think whatever certification is already on the wheels or any wheels/products good enough for Ford and sold through Ford would be good enough "certification" for your country.

I think @Charlemagne might be able to help - he's not too far from you and has the OEM HP wheels on his car, so perhaps could give you some pointers as to what he did.

Good choice in wheels, for once our rules here aren't quite as strict!

You are 100% right, and it should work that way.
But here in Slovakia, in Europe those rims are not certified. EU Ford only recognizes the standard wheels as the wheels for that car. And here If the type and dimensions of the wheels are not signed in my registration papers my car won’t pass technical inspection. That’s why I need some kind of certification that states that those wheels are safe, and ok for that car… it’s so stupid in that case. Wheels made by ford especially for that car, and they still won’t accept it.

While there is no EU certificate for those rims, I'm enclosing some info which might help with any discussions.

In the US, Owners do not have wheel certificates per se. Attached are some items:

- A photo of my door jamb. Skye came from the factory with the wheels of interest. All US vehicles sold new must have this placard; it certifies the wheels and tires the vehicle came with

- A 2022 Ford Mustang Order Guide, identifying these wheels

- A 2022 GT-to-Mach 1 comparison sheet, which displays the bird's nest rims

As poor as our roads can be and as bad as some of us drive in the US, you'd think the US certification could apply anywhere.

That's possible but too risky if something happens, the insurance company would most likely deny any payment, no matter who caused the accident. Also police control could end up in car being forbidden from further drive.

There are more or less official ways how to approach this, I did it in CZ so can't advise much for SK, but gave some pointers in PM.

What definitely helps is that the wheels are original FoMoCo and officially sold on the car in USA, along with the lip moldings ofc. Custom approval by certified testing laboratory should be possible, even without TÜV/KBA.
