So this is sort of on topic. I currently have progressive insurance, in the case anything ever happens, I want all OEM parts. I saw AM FAM has an OEM parts policy. Those of you with any experience in this area, is it worth switching?

Had to put a new battery though, the 3 hours on the side of road with emergency flashers killed the 3 year old battery.

I am noticing my tremec is smoother. It was great before but now seems a little better. I wonder if from factory they under-filled it ?

I looked at dash footage and that metal debris was really hard to find. I had to rewind many times. By the time I saw something it was too late.

That's a hard one to have caught and most would've kept on going straight. It could've been a lot worse at least you realized to stop and check the car versus failing your transmission or leaking enough oil to cause an accident.

I once got hit by a trailer hitch that fell off of a truck on the freeway just like this. Unavoidable and punched a hole in the lower bumper of my ‘11 GT. Wound up getting the Boss lower fascia to fix it

Hello; Hwy 63 runs in front of my home. A few years ago a woman was killed within a mile of my place when a length of rebar went thru the windshield of her car. Never heard more about it so do not know how the re-bar was on the highway. Logical guess is it fell off a truck.

On my 2014 GT I hit a flattened metal chair that got stuck under my car. I hit it going like 75. There was sparks flying, I thought car was toast. I pulled to the side backed up and it came out. Thankfully that time it hit the frame only so there was only minor damage to the underside.

It all depends on the cost difference between these policies. Its not often you use your insurance so may not make sense to pay extra every month. If you end up using it you can always request OEM parts and pay the difference as I was told by the shop.
