Question
Would it be better to get the flex fuel tune over the reg 93 Octane tune because it allows the Pcm to better tune for the fuel. I only plan on running 93. Thanks

If you ask Lund Jr he will say, yes, get the flex fuel tune just for the option to run e85 if you decide to. It will also take advantage of race gas and octane boosters as well. Well real octane boosters, like Torco, Lucas, and VP. Me personally I just run my 93 tune now. I switched back after I got tired of driving 25 out of my way for e85. And I swear I liked the part throttle drivability of my 93 tune better than the FF tune. Lund said there should be no difference in drivability between the two once the FF learned the fuel type. I don't know, maybe I am crazy...

Got an updated tune today. Afr's down to 10's. Doesn't pull anymore codes. Also got the alch_% on the gauge. Thanks to Greg and Terry, they really have top notch service!!!
Sounds like u did what i did, when u get a ff tune from lune the first one is a 93tune if u never had a tune from them. After u send in logs he will then send u a flex tune,i found out the hard way too after filling up with e85 and noticing no changes in af.I had to drive all the back from the track like that but just took it easy.Guys keep this in mind when getting a flex tune.

If i get a tune the ff tune from Lund is the way to go. Problem with 93 octane only tunes are, if you can't find 93 or get a bad gas then you might end up with the knocking issue. Its amazing that the FF tune adjusts for the fuel grade you put in the tank. We have a station that has 100 octane fuel, its 6 dollars a gallon but i would love to give it a try.

I agree the part throttle drivability of the FF tune while running 93 is not as smooth as the 93 only tune.

Even with the FF tune the minimum you should run is still 91. So does you no good there. And if you get bad 91/93 it does the same thing the 93 tune does. It senses knock and pulls timing. So no difference there either. Only benefit is for the guys that want to run E85 can run different mixes without causing any damage, or if no e85 can be found, you can run 91/93 without switching tunes or causing damage. And if you prefer can also take advantage of race gas or octane boosters and get a little more timing over a 93 only tune. But the FF tune is no safer than the 93 tune when getting bad gas.

Best option is the flex fuel tune with 91base map . If you get low quality 93 you are covered . If you fill up with ms109 you are covered . If you find e85 you are good to go . The flexmap is more than just e85 compatible . It is the most diverse map available and it works .

Are you guys getting LU47s for e85? Im being told we need them bc the injectors are the same size as the 14's and these coyotes flow more air. Im hoping for some July 4th sales.

I was told by Lund Racing that the stock injectors are just fine with the flex fuel tune. Now if you upgrade the intake manifold, add boost, or nitrous then yes you will need to install bigger injectors. I believe 47's were recommended for the GT350 intake manifold.

Shaun @ AED. He provided my 91 tune which is great, but if I go 85 I need to upgrade he was saying.

Not needed on the S550s. Unless Shaun is making a much hotter tune that will need the extra fuel flow.

Drove the car down to 0 miles added 5 gal of e85. Did the 2500rpm and idle procedure. Saw the alcohol % raise to 57 from 15.4 but the intake temps went to 165 standing still. (It's a little warm) So I decided to cruise down to the gas station to fill up completely. Relearn says 1 afr 9.5~10.8 cruising also, I noticed added timing with light throttle. Is the relearn complete? Just want to make sure

Thanx

That's what mine reads I think the alch reading only goes to 77.6, that was the highest it went.
