Hey everyone! Was hoping to get some suggestions for headers as I have never had them before. Just want some opinions on different brands and the sizes and what the difference is on that? I am assuming just more airflow? Also curious how many people recommend keeping the cats vs deleting them. Currently have stock headers with borla switch fire and borla ATAKS on my 2015 GT. Thanks in advance!

If you going to cali with the car, leave it alone. I've seen videos on youtube where they are going after out of state cars for loud exhaust and you have to make it cali compliant if you want to drive it in their state. The juice is not worth the squeeze, especially if you're going to cali.

I was worried about this and checked and since the car isn’t registered there should be an issue. And even if they do give me issues I’ll cross that bridge if need be

You would think that being out of state you would be ok, but cali don't care. If you're in their state they are making everyone abide by their rules.

I put stainless power long tubes on my 17 and on my 23, it's a lot of work for just some noise and 20 hp. But stainless power are several hundred dollars cheaper than the other major brands. I paid $15xx for the complete set with cats, header gaskets, clamps, everything you need.

Unless you want crazy boost, 1 7/8 is best for fitment and max flow
Kooks seemed like a best fitment in my opinion and thats what i went with

That’s good to know. I would like to do boost but that’s further down the road as the car is still my daily

Just be forewarned, with the cat back setup you have currently, if/when you do headers whether catted or not, it will be STUPID loud and you WILL draw attention from LEO... Ask me how I know. I put the Borla resonator on mine (Texas speed catted with active S type) and it is much more tolerable...

Most sets are 1 7/8" there are some 2" out there but they are for max boost all out race situations.

Do you happen to have a vid of your setup good sir? This is the exact combo I was looking at getting.

When you say the borla resonator, which one are you referring to?

on my 17, I also did a resonator delete/x pipe, and ford racing sport mufflers by borla and it was stupid loud. so on my 23, I left the factory resonator there along with the factory active exhaust. so now it's only loud when I put it in track mode.

Here is the last cold start I did with mine after the resonator installation. Again, Texas speed, catted, S Type active with Borla 60661 resonator (Resonated H Pipe style resonator)... I don't have any good driving videos though, I need to make some..
