I dig the painted style bar. Very nice.

O, cars long past. How we miss ye.
Yeah, I loved that bar - Cervini made it for the 5th gen. Came in silver, had it painted to match. The overall look of it reminded me of the 2003 concept car.

Guys, I don’t want to get all sappy or whatever, but I feel like the v6 doesn’t get as much love as it should. I loved my 2017 Mustang. I loved the engine. The transmission. The S550 chassis is (still) a great platform. Damn I miss that car so much. What I wouldn’t do to have her back – she saved my life and for that I am grateful.

She had a crazy good tune. Pulled like hell. I had some upgraded chassis supports to stiffen it up. I had short headers that made a nice rumble. Nothing too crazy. The paint was perfect and interior immaculate.

I know some people don’t like the v6 for whatever reason. But I loved that thing to death. I know technically the i4 is better and you can’t compare it to the v8. But I just don’t have the same chemistry with this new car that I had with the old one you know?

It’s been a year since the car accident, if I am honest, I am still not over it. Everyday I just wish I was back in my old car. Every. Single. Day.

Anyway, to those who have the v6. I envy you. Hold onto them for as long as possible. Love them always.

Miss you forever.
Wow - glad you were ok from that accident!!

Did anyone help the bicyclist who landed in your passenger seat?

I miss the startup growl and the way it delivered power with the Torrie tune.

The Cyclone is a great engine. It's not technically a derivative of the Duratec in a true sense, but in practical terms it is. It's essentially immortal unless you're trying to run boost through it, and while the exhaust note isn't good, the engine note/induction sound is great. The Coyote is the opposite.

My only complaint about the V6 in the S550 is how Ford offered it. You basically couldn't get any high packages with it, you were stuck with base interior. That is not the case with the Challenger or the Camaro.

To this day, I still loved and miss my '08 S197 V6. That motor sounded awesome with the boom tubes, and while that specific motor was a slug, I still enjoyed driving it till the second I traded it in.

At least Ford (and GM) offered the V6 with a proper 6 speed manual :)

When I bought my 2013 Mustang V6 Dodge still had a 5 speed slush-box in the Challenger V6 :puke:

OP, get online and go buy another v6 if you miss your first one that bad. They are out there, and can probably be had for a good deal these days since everyone is chasing a 5.0 or EcOboOst.
Would love to! and I am always checking. But most all of them do not meet my standards for paint quality. I like my cars to have perfect paint :sunglasses:

The 3.7 sounds a lot better than the EB, IMO.
Yep. I thought the EcoBoost was interesting until I had a rental in March. Motor has vibration and sounds TERRIBLE (car only had 2k miles on it so it was new). If you take the power difference out of it, a GT is such a better driving car comfort wise than the EcoBoost.

I'm not sure if it's comparing apples to apples, but I have the 2.3L EB in my Bronco and it is the worst sounding engine I think I've ever owned, lol.

Luckily I have a Ducati Multistrada with a 3/4 Arrow system and my GT w/ the AE when I need some auditory therapy :)

It had a lot of go, it was just a rough feeling engine, and the engine note was terrible. To me there was more vibration in the car than a GT. It was unexpected to me. The 2.7L V6 EcoBoost in my edge ST was butter, and would fly.

I dunno. That's unfortunately easier said than done believe it or not. OP got me curious and I went a-lookin for 2017 manual V6's. In 500 miles there are ten around me with <50,000 miles, and only about half of those are clean, no accident cars. Of those, only a handful are in a good state to consider buying, and of those further, you'd have to get a closer look at to see how the paint looks...

Suppose it comes with the territory of being a mustang, and the (at the time) most easily accessible mustang at that.

Mostly! I was actually in the trunk at the time on my bike because traffic was at a stand still. But seriously myself and the traffic in front of me was stopped on the highway when I was hit from behind. Myself and 4 other cars were involved. If I wasn't hit square in the back, I fear I would have had much worse injuries. The guy that I was pushed up into was spun around and had a neck injury. I came away from it really well all things considered. It was an off duty cop too, who claims he was "inattentive" which tells me he was texting. I believe I was hit at least at 60mph, maybe more. Its hard to say. I was hit so hard I traveled 100 feet up the road from where I was.

Its pretty difficult! But I will keep looking. Having two mustangs would be cool right?

Man, having a bunch of cars would be cool, but my wallet never seems to agree. :giggle:

Not the same as your baby per se, but there are a pair of nice looking, manual Roush Mustang RS' floating on Autotempest. Those have some niceties of being unique and also fairly low mileage. I'd be making quite the trip either way myself, but maybe you'd not be.

I'm biased of course, but historically, I consider the 6 banger as important as the v8. At the end of '17, when I saw the end of the 6 and the first gen s550, I went out with a check for 25K and came home with my first Mustang.
I've had 'vettes, no turbo 4's please. With a hitch and Roush axle backs, it does everything I want and on regular gas. It's also worth about what I paid at 25K mi. I'm always looking: hot rods, 50's cruisers, etc., but so far nothing to make me want to part with my "Cyclone". Done 5.9 on the 0-60 meter, also I go to the strip once a year and on the right day, I think I'll hit the 13's, bragging rights in the 60's.
Two other thoughts, it looks like a real engine and I'm not as OCD about it as with some other cars, but I do keep her looking nice.

I traded a 96 4.6 V8 Thunderbird with many mods and many miles for a brand new 2013 3.7 V6 Mustang - with ZERO options....I put factory leather in it, and generally tried to like it, - but I just couldn't - that car had an MT82, and a 2.73 rear - the whole "300 Horsepower 30 MPG No compromise" ad campaign of 2010-2012 really hyped these things - and I bet with 3.55-3.73 and premium trim, they were fine, mine...I just couldn't. Got rid of it after about 7 months.

Now, as for the 3.7 in the 2015+ Mustang - I have never seen one in person that I know of - at least, I never saw a NEW one in person - I'm sure I have unknowingly seen them around, and just assumed that they were Ecoboost....

There was never a 2015+ 3.7 in a premium trim from the factory, was there? Any idea how many 2015+ were built with the 3.7? Were they fleet/rental only, or could regular consumers buy them?

Did ford offer the 3.7 in the 2018+ refreshed cars? It's listed in the parts catalog for 2018 like you could, but that's not totally accurate for little things like this.
