Hey, I just bought this 2015 mustang gt, and I only noticed it after an oil change where its ticking fairly loudly. At first I payed no mind to it and figured it was normal until I heard my buddies 2015 5.0 and it was much much quieter. Is this noise something to be worried about?

I didn't watch your video, but the Coyote tick is normal. Most Mustang owners put in Ceratec which quiets it down. It is rumored that Ford puts Motorcraft XL-17 in the oil from the factory, which is why a lot of owners complain about the tick after their first oil change.

If you watched the video, this guys sound is nothing like the coyote tick. Jesus.

OP, your video is not the typical coyote tick. Not even close. It's definitely something wrong.

I don't know what it is, I hope you get an answer.

For anyone who wants to comment but not watch the video, it sounds like a baseball card in bike spokes.

Ive done some research on the coyote tick and I didn't think that this was it, which is why it concerns me. The tick started after my oil change, and the car has 58k miles on it

The BBQ tick is often best heard near the ground. It's random and slow pace.

Injector ticks are always present where you shot the video. But they have a tick more akin to the engine RPM at idle. Like listening to clockworks.

The tick you recorded is neither. It sounds like a solenoid or injector is in freakout mode. Someone with more experience could be of greater help.

@geep81, I apologize that my response was not helpful. I clearly stated in my reply that I didn't watch the video. Next time I will be sure to also add "... because I am somewhere really loud and I can't make out the audio."

I have edited the original reply since it wasn't helpful.

@jp1234 It definitely sounds harsher than the typical coyote tick, so you are right to be concerned.

Oil level is correct? Who did the oil change? This started right after the oil change or within a few days?

I just went down and checked it out again, I was able to pull the plug for the purge valve and the ticking stopped, I just replaced it and it stopped the ticking noise yay, but the thing is I just replaced it a few months ago because it threw an evap code. But it did not tick before, so my new question is what's causing it to tick or go bad?

Do you overfill your gas tank? meaning do you top off the fill tube a few clicks after the nozzle shuts off?

I meant the double barb vacuum thingy. Was that part of your intake?

Yeah, it's the SR performance cold air intake, that's the connector that it came with

Remove the vapor line from the Purge valve and see if there is fuel or oil in it. Also inspect the electrical connector for corrosion, bent or pushed out pins.
