Anyone know what this is and where it goes?

It's off a 2018 Shelby and I found it in the engine bay, drivers side, resting on the top of the inner wheel well, just aft of the strut tower. It looks like it would have come off the Brake Master Cylinder Reservoir. It has a bit of the yellow brake fluid residue on it. I've searched all around the reservoir and can't see anything missing. I've checked for leaks as well. The car is basically brand new and I haven't had any service done to the car, let alone anything to do with or near the brake cylinder. I'm stumped.

Check the gizmos that hold the hood insulation on.

Other than that, don't sweat it.

I'd guess something accidentally left from the dealer or a factory worker.

It goes in a vending machine or piggybank.
I knew I should have specified which part I found..

I'd guess something accidentally left from the dealer or a factory worker.
This seems to be the most likely culprit based off the circumstances and what other people on the interwebs have said.

Probably off the master cylinder assembly. I imagine that the ports are plugged during shipping to the factory so no debris gets inside.

Just based off the location you found it and it obviously plugged a port and that's the only thing on that side of the car that I know of which this could have been used.

Its even a little discolored as if it was in contact with fluid at some point.

Yep, port plug. Toss it.

Yep, it's probably something that should have been discarded during the build process, but didn't quite make it onto the trash pile.
