I'm getting a little play in the shifter after about 3500 miles. Seems to be getting worse. I thought these were permanently attached and shouldn't come loose? Feels like it is just the ball itself.

I'll wait til first service to address, so long as it stays on til then.

Anyone else notice some play?

No play in mine, but they should just screw on. Have you tried tightening it?

yes tried to tighten, but it just jostles back and forth a bit....not much, just enough to be annoying. doesn't seem to tighten or loosen any.

Take the ball off, put pipe tape on the threads, screw the ball back on then get rowing!

Blue loctite is the solution. It's what FRPP says to use on their knobs.

^^^^ This ^^^^, not teflon pipe tape. DO NOT use red Loctite!! Green and purple aren't right either, but won't get you in trouble like red. Curiously, all 4 colors (strengths) come in red bottles.
