Thanks for the free bump
Very hard to imagine anyone of us few Base R model owners wanting to part with the radio delete plate as that is one of the coolest parts of the interior at least it is for an old guy like me therefore suggest that you are relegated to purchasing an OEM part from Ford at a significant price level and based on my experience that will probably not happen.

With only 114 Base R's produced for the first 3 MY's which require this radio delete plate along with very few Base R's produced for the final production year namely 2018 there obviously is not a very big demand for these radio delete panels as I went down this same path some ~2 years ago.

I used to know the suppliers name and address for this part but don't recall it off hand but do recall going down this same path and found out that they would not sell direct to the general public.

Unless you can locate one of the very few Base R models that have been written off due to a mishap your chances of finding an OEM unit are pretty much impossible.

Question that comes to mind is this, let's say a Base R involved in an accident or theft & this component is damaged. Car's in for repair, insurance kicks in. Would like to think that this part is available. Could it be the case that part is available with proven VIN# ?

That avenue has been explored... I tried three dealers and none said it was possible. I reached out to anyone that worked at the assembly line, nothing. I believe the only way is an owner that has no use for it or perhaps a random dealership that has retro fit an entertainment system.

So... if any owners or parts departments have this piece laying around... cash in hand.

Don't forget the blank shifter bezel - shouldn't say "SYNC" if you don't have a radio.

This is almost comical. Don't forget the GT350 badges. And while you are at it, get the special red "R" for the GT350 on the sides.

What are you going to do about the carbon fiber wheels? The wing? The suspension? The engine? THE VIN, lol. Wannabe? Hmm

Again I cannot foresee an R owner giving up a radio delete cover or a Ford dealership refitting a Base R model with an entertainment system but do suggest that if one of these Base R's get into a mishap on a race track/road course and/or a vehicle accident whereby the vehicle in question is written off then you would have an opportunity to secure the part that you are looking for.

With all of the R spec modifications that you are making to your Mustang GT how far are you going to take this vehicle and do you intend on leaving the Coyote engine in place or replace it with a Voodoo engine?

In theory, you absolutely can buy the FCIM with radio delete from Ford. The part number should be either FR3Z-18842-G or FR3Z-18842-M. I'd need a VIN from a base R car to tell for sure.
Either way, it would be ordered like any other radio part via 1878 form by the dealer. I'd be willing to bet, however, that a) there aren't any in stock anywhere, and b) it has a stupid price. As it is now, both of those part numbers are unpriced parts in Ford's system (lots of radio numbers are unpriced).
Yes, I work in a Ford parts dept and am bored.

After going down this path myself a couple of years ago both A & B were applicable at that time.

If you want a VIN use J5502272 as that vehicle is 1 of 2 Base R models built for the Canadian market place for the 2018MY.

Your VIN comes back with JR3Z-18842-G, which shows to have gone into use starting 10-02-17. I didn't realize anything on the FCIM had changed on the base Rs since they were introduced. I put in a request for pricing on this unit and will update if/when I get a response.

If it's not crazy $$, I'd buy 1 too. However, I suspect that won't be the case.

As for the OP, you will need fenders, hood, front fascia, cup2's, springs, sway bars (off the top of my head) in addition to the stuff mentioned previously. Oh, and don't forget to remove your AC compressor.

And don't forget the present list price for a set of CF wheels at $23,000 (yes can be had for ~$16,000) and not sure where the CF spoiler prices out of late as well.

Pretty simple from my standpoint.

With Flat Rock having produced ~20,000 GT350/R's over the last 4 years and out of that number only ~135 of these Shelby's were Base R/radio delete cars (along with ~9 other deleted items) why would any Ford supplier carry an excessive inventory for this part which is not even close to 1% of the total cars produced and with no Base R's to be produced for the 2019MY.
