Hello 6G!

I am currently looking for a new suspension setup for my Daily/ Canyon driver.

The current suspension on the car.

  • SR Lowing Springs (1" drop)
  • OEM Front Shocks
  • Steeda Pro-Active Rear Shocks
The current Wheel/Tire setup.
  • 18x9.5 Wheels
  • 275/40/18 Tires
I originally planned on going with the Pro-Active setup for the Front and Back with new springs but I would like to lower the car ever so slightly more than the 1" drop
and I am also looking to reduce more of the body roll and bounciness of the current setup.

In terms of budget I am looking to Ideally spend $1,100-$1,500 on a new setup.

So far I have narrowed down options in terms of budget coilovers. These would be the group I am looking to pick from.

  1. ST-X Coilovers
  2. ST-XTA Coilovers
  3. H&R Street Coilovers
  4. Steeda Coilovers
I believe the H&R Kit is the only monotube kit on the list but as a daily I am not sure how much better a monotube design would preform over a twintube.

In terms of going with a new Shock, Strut & Spring combo I have only looked so far as the Steeda options or Bilstein paired with Steeda or H&R Springs.

Any help would be very much appreciated as I feel like I just cant find the "easy" go to setup for a Street Daily that I take to the Canyons.

Thank you 6G Forums!

Ford perf shocks 600$
Bmr springs handling 250$ they are linear. And the stiffer available for oem design
Bmr Sway bar front medium setup 200ish.

I won the american muscle cup like this. But still a great combo for street use too

Ps the feel the car bouncy is also caused because the tire has a good height. A thinner tire will be more rigid

Pps. Try to avoid 1000$ coilovers. They have many regulations. Andnthe valve quality is... Let's say not the best.
Pps. Remember to make an allignment after. Zero toe and more camber will help your experience
Hope this help.

Easy button, with all your criteria considered, are Steeda Progressive springs paired with Bilsteins.

You’ll get your desired drop of 1.25”F/1”R and daily ride quality from the springs, control from the dampers, and at a cost of less than $1k. More likely $850-$900 if you shop around. Look into bars and the Steeda roll-center correction/bump steer kit to finish things off.

The FRPP Track Kit is a simple solution too. I recommend steering clear of coil overs unless you’re a focused racer.

There is no difference. It will fit. Some parts have that disclaimer because they were not tested with the V6.

H e R is a respectful company.
However I can guarantee that almost no one in mustang community use their coilovers for racing. Do they work? Probably yes.
Would I buy? Probably mot cause lack of direct teack community experience

Ford Performance Track Pack seems to be the correct answer. Acctually designed for your car. And @ 1,300.00 it's in your desired price range.

What springs would you recommend with the kit since it is a daily? Would progressives ride weird on shocks designed for the track?

For a daily I would do the M-18000-F shock and strut kit paired with the Eibach Pro Kit or BMR SP763 min drop performance springs. It will ride and handle great. The adjustments available to you with coilovers can sometimes be more than you really want to worry about, and a well-matched fixed setup is usually better for a road car.

I have the FPTP on my 2017 GT and though I don't drive it daily, I feel that I could. Springs are part of the package. You just have two settings. One setting more for street other setting more for track. That depends on what you want mostly to do with the car. I had the dealership set it up for me. Plus it doesn't void your warranty.

The warranty on my car is long gone so I’m not super worried about that and by setting do you mean they have dampening settings? And as for springs I am trying to find a set to pair with the kit
