I leave my Mustang unlocked with the drivers window down an inch or so, just in case the battery goes dead. Locked or unlocked doesn't seem to matter much to a Mustang. I don't worry about my car getting stolen. It's unlikely and I don't have any real attachment to it.

Makes a big difference, especially with our damp environment and temperature swings we get at this time of the year.
WD: Once again, I am a day later and a dollar short. :-) Odds are it is even more humid on the coast in south Texas than in Jolly Old England and, I use DampRid jars in my gun safe, my office closet with all the supplies, as well as a few other places.

Wouldn't you THINK I would have figured out that inside the car was another good place? Duh..

Therefive, I am definitely going to set one on the floor as you mentioned. Having seen the amount of water the other jars pull out, I'm sure I will get a similar amount from the interior and if so, it will most assuredly help the fabric, windows, and I expect it will improve the olfactory environment as well. <chuckling> Maybe better than the hanging, "pine scent" Christmas tree. <grin>

Not sure who had the first thought, but it's a good one for those of us who deal with excessive humidity year round and thanks for the eye deer. :-)

If you get below freezing, I have an update :

So it’s now on the battery tender, and these have just gone in :

Both are chemical dehumidifiers.

The small one is disposable and for the trunk.

The big one is reusable and uses disposable (well, they turn to water) blocks.

The only reason the big one is sat in a pet bowl is I found that if the block freezes, parts can break off and when they do, they land in an area that drains outside the unit, rather than into the water tank :like:

With so many cars being stolen from dealerships....I locked mine...though it is only being stored in the garage for the three weeks while I am away. If I was home, then it would be unlocked. There are thieves that have those gadgets that steal garage door opener codes. With that having been said, I have two of the newer type openers that should prevent that happening.
I put a massive padlock through the door tracks of my garage door. Door can't proceed upwards past the padlock. No way that's opening.
