For my situation, I knew my Mustang was going to be a weekend/fun/rip around car. Not that you can't do that in an EB. But that V8 sound and the Coyote's performance, the 5.0 was simply a better platform (for me), to start from. Just as an EB may be a better platform for someone else's needs. Buy what you want/need. It's all good, . . . . .

Everyone buying Premiums for the leather seats...
Did you not know you can buy them new for a couple hundred dollars and install in a few hours yourself?
Other than the brakes, there is no benefit to getting the premium.
Save the money for REAL performance parts.
Unless you like flashy lights and a bumper you cant see.

Brakes aren't part of the premium package. Those come with performance package. I think Base w/PP is the best bang for your buck. 32-33k and you are in a track ready, 435hp car off the lot. Yes things can be upgraded to better parts but for what it's worth, a stock PP handles quite nicely.

Base GT, if you get an EB people gonna laugh at you for having a 4-cyl Mustang, then you may regret not having went GT.
Ouch! It is the truth unfortunately

Around here, most enthusiasts (Unless you're a shop trying to sell parts) dog the EB more than the V6.

Only Premium thing I wanted on my Base GT w/PP was the rear bumper. I did that conversion myself.

I'm mixed. Sometimes I want it, sometimes I don't. A weird obsession I find myself in lately. I do keep an eye out on eBay from premium bumpers though just in the event I would be able to find one cheaply.

I agree with most. I got the base GT. Did the 8" Moddiction screen swap which was the main thing I wanted from the Premium. Got a set of PP wheels and tires for 700, and just did the group buy for the Katzkin leather. Got pretty much everything I wanted at far cheaper than what the dealership wanted to charge me for the other packages.
I have a Magnetic and sprayed the lower valance so I can live w/o the Premium bumper until I can come across a really good deal for one.

The premium is the same as the performance pack in value for content!. For the content, it's worth the cost of admission. Getting the better sound system, heated and cooled seats in leather, toggles, interior lighting, puddle lights, bumper. Trying to get all of this purchased and installed for what the premium package costs from the factory. Is a losing proposition.

V8 car = fun. but a V8 with a manual is a different experience. Hell it even makes my v6 fking addicting.
Last year i was test driving GTs, the used 2015 GT auto was meh. But that 2016 manual tho:hail: its the only way to go if your gonna get a Mustang.
The GT without an auto is "meh"? LOL. Get real, that could not be farther from the truth. You sound like a transmission snob. V8 power is V8 power. The rush and adrenaline from 435hp is the same whether you have your hand wrapped around a ball and stick or you have your hands on a steering wheel, squeezing paddles. When you floor it the feeling is the same. I have owned vehicles with sticks, and the advantages of the auto outweigh anything a manual can offer me. And since we're being transmission snobs, I'll remind you that the auto is faster in these cars, and will be even more fast when the 10speed comes out. In an auto vs manual battle, stock or with the same mods, the auto is going to win every time. If speed is your goal (and why else would you buy a V8?) then don't go with a manual.

Further, if you want to push enormous power to the wheels, such as with a supercharger or a turbo, you still want to go with an auto, unless you enjoy breaking half-shafts all day and spinning your tires so hard you gain zero traction.

...is what I would say if I was a transmission snob. Can we kill this idea that having a manual or an auto either lessons or improves the ownership of this car? Either transmission is a fine choice. I suggest that regardless of whether he goes EB or GT he selects the transmission that is most convenient for him, and the car will be a blast no matter which one he chooses. He doesn't need a manual or need an auto. Let's not get into absolutes with transmission choice.

I think the PP package bang for the buck is great. I don't feel premium package is matching that at all with a few cosmetic things.

I don't think the PP is all that great compared to the Ford racing track pack. And I wouldn't bother spending my money on the PP. See how opinions work? What I typed above is not about your opinion. It was about if it's a value for the content provided at a certain price point..

Knowing what I know now (Monday morn QBing) I would have ordered a Base GT PP - best bang for your buck, oh well, still happy with what I have now though.

I'd say it depends on what features you consider important, which I understand holds a different value for everyone.

Toggles? Don't care. Interior lighting? Don't care. Puddle lights? Gimme a break. Sound system? Shaker is ok but not great. Bumper? Not a big deal at all and can be added for a few hundred bucks.
I concede on seats, more so the heated/cooled point, the factory leather is meh.

But yea exactly, my opinion of the things important to me. You're not wrong, just stating my point of view for OP.

1/4 mile only? Or has that been tested and proven on tracks that have left and right turns?
