Look in your information display for "track apps". If you have it, it will be there. I thought all S550s had it but don't know for sure.
Anyway, if you have it activate it and follow the on screen instructions.
Its intended purpose is, yes, burnouts to heat up the rear tires to help launch the car in a drag race.
I've used it on my car precisely once to see it work. Tires are too expensive to do it often if you're not racing.
