And some of the 2016 GTs with rear diff temp sensor have been overheating the rear diff at the track. Previous models didnt have this and none of the GTs with manual trans have a trans temp sensor.
2016 GTs have a rear diff sensor? Why would they have it on a GT but leave it out on a GT350??

And how often is someone legally hitting that 8200 rpm on the street?

It's a give and take....and you kinda prove my point. It's designed a little more for the street where it's not going to see that heat and doesn't need the coolers. That extra RPM that the trans experiences at the track is looking to be the difference.

The question of how long an non-Track or R mustang "should" be able to remain on track before it exceeds the Ford-programmed performance limits is a debate with many sides. I do think its fair to say, however, that when a Tech or Base GT350 has to be the first car off the track, most people will ask some form of "hey, what's wrong" question.

With respect to a major piece of this whole conversation--what buyers should have known or concluded before purchase--everyone raise their internet hands who believe that marketing materials and reports were clear that you COULD NOT add factory coolers . . .

For me, this is the most significant issue. The owners manual recommends adding coolers that are not available. Post-purchase materials now say add aftermarket coolers that also don't exist and will likely defeat a factory warranty. It forces Tech and Base owners into a hole that shouldn't exist.
Great points Sprint.

The major design feature on the Shelby is the FPC engine and its ability to hit 8200 RPM. Since Ford doesn't recommend us breaking the law, then it's obvious that anyone with that engine are find are going to place where we can legally hit 8200 RPMs regularly (I.e. A track). The entire design of the car should to handle or keep that power safe.

On the flip-side - they also didn't say that they were or ever would be available from Ford. To me, that sentence said, "really think about your decision to buy this tech package if you want to track the car" just a little more than, "We're going to make cooling kits available". I mean, either way, we are just inferring what that statement actually means.

So you'll never attempt 8250rpm on the street, gotcha. You're reaching.

It's a shallow argument by someone who doesn't want solutions, doesn't want it solved, they just want to complain, threaten, whine and demand compensation.

The highest legal speed limit in the US is 80mph, by that logic, federally, all cars should be limited in gearing and power to never exceed 80 mph, right?

Well, I'm in Germany, autobahn and all.

Besides, if I do and get a limp mode, will the regional rep just say "you should have gotten a track package"?

That's all I saw in this whole page (40 posts per page setting).

So Lemers, what kind of GT350 are you getting? Track package, Tech package? When is the estimated time of arrival?

Please do the forum a favor and go here, paste your repetitive cars stats in the box:

Again, Ford markets a track car. ford markets all these features that can't be used on the street. But then they do market you inability to use these features.

And quit with the personal attacks, before a reply in kind.

You don’t want to know
Since the GT 350 isn't built to European specs and isn't available from the factory in Europe anyway, what's the point of this discussion?

I'll be in the U.S. After July 2018 with it, so what I can do on the autobahn is a lifetime bonus.
