Limp Mode on the Track

Pretty much everything you've seen here about Ford looking into the problem is correct. It's way too early for any resolution to what so far has been a minuscule sample, based on the number of cars delivered.

BTW, FP is just the conduit for delivering the messages to Ford, and anyone having a problem should report it to the dealer and/or Ford Customer Service. The good people who answer the phones at FP are not the ones working on the resolution of this or any other reported problem.

And, from the very personal standpoint of being someone who, after more than 7 months of waiting, refused delivery of his GT 350 because of QC and shipping issues, I couldn't be more satisfied with the way the dealer and Ford quickly and correctly handled the situation. :clap2:

I can live with the wait, my main concern was Ford not adressing the reported issues and probably a whole lot more when temps gets warmer.
All is good and hoping for a fast resolution .

BTW, I know someone who tracks their Tech GT350 in CA... at Fontana, Willow Springs, etc. and he has not hit reduced power or limp mode. An advanced driver too. He also tracks his C7 Z06 and his new Viper ACR out there.

Hey Bossing, I am sure we would all like to hear more from your friend who tracked his TECH 350. What are the chances of getting HIS words on the forum? It could be the most important post in this thread we have heard to date. :clap2:

Lets get back to the subject. Everyone knows he has a great stable. :headbonk:

Almost subject related, but when C&D or R&T that tested a bunch of sports cars at the track, including ACR vs C7Z VS GT350R, both the vette and the mustang came to close to very high temps. It was the comparison where the R won best performance car.
So an R may also have high temp issues, not sure about limp mode though. Still winter, hopefully we see these cars on road courses across the country.

I'm not sure what publication this page comes from, it's an "RE&T 2016 Source Book" dated June 2015. Does anyone know if the 8-second Overrev cut-off was involved in any of the reported track limp mode events?

Anyone run at over 6250 rpm for more than 8 seconds on track? Anyone experience any Overrev warnings on the dash?

Wow that's very disappointing to say the least. I'd be a good idea for the base/tech community if they would bring their cars in to their respective dealerships to have it diagnosed.

This is just the tip of the iceberg, it' gonna get ugly very soon as more and more people will want to track their cars as Spring is just around the corner.

I wonder if the hood needs bigger vents? Looks like tiger racing made a hood for the s550 cars, not sure if I like it:

This might be a worthy mod to help with cooling, it would also reduce weight.
