Congrats Icarumba! My guess with the "AS IS NO WARRANTY" is a sell back car that has been tuned. When i sold my 2011 GT it still had a warranty, and was solid but went AS IS because it was chipped.

What brought me here though was to add to the chain that finally Ford has heard me out via a field engineer and the help of BBB and has authorized a new long block. Will be writing more of a detailed follow up on my original post soon.

BBB apparently is the only way to get this company to listen.

My experience with the BBB was awesome. They were extremely professional and quick.

Ford on the other hand, *sigh*, you get the idea. I won the BBB Abitration hearing back in September and the deadline is in November 2nd. My Ford dealer and I are still waiting for the Ford Rep to send us a "worksheet"...
You will need to call them. I waited 2 weeks without a peep, so I called. They contacted the dealer within a couple of hours.

Dang...sorry man! I wonder what happens if they miss the deadline. Maybe you should lay low until then to see if they blow it...maybe you'll get a bonus settlement!!

I just ordered my replacement which should be here around C-mas. I was able to resolve my issue with a Ford representative and dealer. I was told I will get a letter in the mail in 5 days and something else 2 weeks later. They will be providing me the instructions on how to surrender the vehicle. Sometimes you luck out and get in touch with the right person and sometimes you have to go the BBB route. I had my paperwork 100% complete and ready to fax. Gave Ford one more shot and they came through. I was faxing it the next morning and if I hit the button, never buying another Ford again. In this case, they saved their sale, got another one, and won't be losing future business. Win-win for everyone involved.

It's really not Ford's fault. I mean, the defects are, but not the CS. This is how they are trained. If they bought back every vehicle that someone wanted them to, they'd be out of business. You have to go above and beyond to get it done which helps weed out people that do not have legit issues. We, the few folks that actually have Lemons will get them taken care of.

Was yours the driveline vibration problem or something else? I'm trying to get a feel for how many of the driveline problem cars Ford is buying back.

No vibration issues; it was the BBQ tick. Took basically a long block to fix get rid of noise. Then, there has been little issues that keep popping up such as popping a coolant hose, losing traction control, advance trac, and hill assist randomly, and now, I swear there is exhaust coming into the cabin or maybe something burning off the exhaust. Not sure. It will be back over to them to figure out within a couple weeks. Until then, windows down.

This is what scares me about my upcoming engine replacement. The tech who is going to be doing it is pretty sharp though, so I have high confidence it'll come out good.

So did you accept the long block replacement and after that was completed then go back with a full replacement after all these issues came up?

My case was:
1. Short block replacement - Ticking still there.
2. Driver's side head replacement - Stuck lifter found, new head ordered from Detroit, ticking still there.
3. Passenger side head replaced - Noise went away.
Get the car back in the morning and it runs out of gas in front of the dealership. Had a police escort for a half hour while a porter ran to get some gas. Get to work and coolant is leaking and left a hell of trail behind as far as I could see. Towed back.
4. Fixed coolant leak - dealer fixed the coolant leak; said it was a hose going to the oil cooler.
5. Injectors - 3 injectors, #2, #4, and #6 were replaced. Why? I have no idea. Done at the same time as coolant leak.
6. Driver's assists quit - triple failure of traction control, advance trac, and hill assist.

Let's talk about my feelings...:(
1. I felt that it sucked that I had to have my short block replaced because this made my car non-numbers matching, but it happens. I gave them a chance to make things right.
2. Still ticking, they replaced the first head. Okay, they replaced the head this time. I was not pleased, I reached my limit of acceptance. Except the problem was still not fixed.
3. The replaced the other head. Car was actually driving pretty well. Wanted to turn it in as a lemon, but was on the fence since it was driving so smooth. Legitimately felt 50/50.
4. Saw the trail of coolant, lost hope. Started thinking about how much it has been apart, then put back together and the problem was still there. What was this ticking damage? Are valves getting bent while they are gouging my new short block cylinder walls? This thing will burn oil for the life of the car.
5. Why did they replace my injectors? It seemed to be running well...?... This is the cherry on top of the BBB paperwork--not that I needed one at 43 consecutive days at the dealer.
6. I lost my traction control, advance trac, and hill assist driving to work. Just left the house, in fact, I was on the street right behind my house. Not hot rodding, just commuting. Why did THAT happen? No one should have been anywhere NEAR anything to do with these systems.

So now after speaking with the owner of my dealership and his Ford representative and voicing these concerns, Ford agreed to buy the car back and told me to pick out a replacement vehicle that was equal or more than the $42.5k MSRP I paid for the '15. I placed a build order on a $43k '16.

I chose replacement for the fact that I would never be able to trust the car. I feel like this car will be cursed with gremlins forever. Little things failing all the time. I'm not dropping all this money to go through that. I love the new Mustangs. I didn't know what to pick for the next car if I had to go through with the BBB process because I would not have bought another Ford. Luckily for all involved, Ford came through and did the right thing. As a result, I get the car I deserve, my dealer gets another sale, and Ford keeps their sale and customer.

Glad they did right by you. Another issue is that the car would be hard to sell with all of those repairs on the Carfax.

I was told that my engine swap would NOT show up on my carfax or give me an R title.

Since the work was done under warranty it would only be known to Ford unless I disclosed it?

Did I just eat a bowl of sucker soup?

I had my transmission rebuilt on my ram under warranty and it showed on the carfax. So I don't know how that wouldn't.

I assumed all work would appear on the Carfax, but I could be wrong. It would be interesting to pull one on yours to see what it says. Maybe your sales guy could do that for you for free.

Mine's here.

It has a hood misaligment (passenger side gap is bigger than driver gap), oh well. It's in better shape than I though.
Congrats! Hope this one is a good one!

Man, my replacement has the bracket installed, too. Sucks. Congrats! Looks like we are all getting taken care of.

My rear trunk is not lined up. Left side is higher than the right side about 1/8 inch. I went to the same dealer and they had another Mustang had the exact same problem. Must be made by one worker. There are other fit issues but they are not obvious so I am letting them slide. The trunk is very obvious. Coming from Japanese and German cars this is something new to me.
