Just got a response:

"There is no published bulletin associated with this. It is possible that there is a PCM update. The only way to do an update is to use the IDS and manually there is a way to check for PCM updates and it will ask you if you want to update to the newest calibration. Its possible Ford MAY publish a bulletin on it, but as of right now, nothing written."
The instructor said it was a brand new thing, Is it possible it was given to ford performance to try out?

I like to disassemble things.
Communicating with someone there now. They did indeed flash the appropriate control module and this may not have been the only change. Apparently the calibration file came direct from Ford engineering and is not yet being handled in conjunction with Ford service.

This would be awesome if the new builds get this as mine as of right now is slated for 7/1 which means The dealer wont get it till August since it has to go out for vinyl striping. SO as soon as someone knows post it here so I know if its already in or if I have to instruct the dealership where its heading to or the dealership I'll be dealing with once it arrives.

You’ll know as soon as you use launch control! Lol the delay now is about .3 to .5 sec delay. The cars at track Attack were instant GO!

From what I understand, the calibration provided to FPRS for the school cars is not being installed on Job2 GT500's. I'm now wondering if it will be part of a power/tune upgrade from Ford Performance as opposed to a dealer network service related flash.

Tob: Lack of knowledge here once again...has something like that occurred before? (Kinda sounds like it has.)
At this point everything is too vague. Those that know aren't at liberty to say much and those that don't know anything prefer to tread lightly as they know things are under wraps for a reason and are afraid to poke the bear. No biggie, just means you gotta dig deeper and sooner or later you find a crack in the wall.

Those that man the "chat" system at FP know nothing about it. Obviously, Tremec and Ford engineers do. Widmann should as well, unless he's buried in electrification now and is somehow out of the loop. I've compared FPRS school car VIN's to my own in ETIS as well as using a comparator to see differences in binary code at certain addresses. We'll figure it out but it may take a bit.

I have little to no faith in anything productive coming from that potential relationship. Tremec and Ford already know what we want from this DCT and what happens when the chains are taken off. I sense we'll get bits and pieces with the first being something from FP. I don't see a reflash coming from the dealer level for this as it is purely for performance and not something for emissions, durability etc. Although removing certain protective strategies (or merely extending specific limitations) may indeed have a warranty impact. FP doesn't look to have much up their sleeve for the GT500 and could use anything they could get their hands on, including some sort of TCM/PCM (maybe ABS as well) flash that makes this car even faster.

i agree, but Ill add to that ive heard, from a C8 perspective, that Tremec may be trying to keep everything in house, and offer parts /tunes through them. That was also coupled with the possibility the C8 Z06/Zr1 version would be getting a different spec dct. Not sure how true that is, doesnt make any logistical or financial sense to me.
Especially given the DCT is saving the clutches on its own electronically, even at very high hp. A set of clutchs was sent out for inspection, and they turned out to be looking like new.. So the hardware is up to task, clutch materail at least, as it should since the trans is going into the top 2 american cars that get modified.
