If you run your car while the Whipple flare tool on your laptop plugged into the ODBII sensor, it will throw a code. Learned that the hard way. I was freaking out until I saw what the codes were.

I would either recommend a refurbished laptop for under $100 (C2D or faster) or what I prefer, a Windows x86 tablet (Ematic and Winbook are popular brands). A 7-10" x86 tablet goes for $60-150. I like a Winbook and if you need a wireless keyboard with a touchpad I recommend the Logitech K400.

Pretty good prices. I recently bought an android tablet for my forum reading and don't like it very much (text size is squirly), was thinking about returning it. I might replace it with a Windows tablet if that does the job of a laptop for the FI install.
