Kooks Headers Production Problems?

I've had my Headers on order for a long time and no show.
Has anyone heard of them having production problems or back orders.
Going switch vendor and brand at the end of this week!

Kooks usually takes a long time, especially if you ordered it at a low price and got free coating. In those situations, the seller has to wait for Kooks to include your headers in a regular shipment, if space is available to do so, in order to give you the lower price. And you have to accept waiting, if it is indeed the case that you got a very low price/coating.

If not, even still, Kooks takes a while. Probably why nobody complains about the product.

Kooks, Stainless Works and American Racing Headers are all considered custom headers, so sometimes there will be a lead time for production/coating before the kit is ready to ship. With these manufacturers, you sometimes will have to wait a little, but they are some of the top of the line exhaust. They fit like they're supposed to. They perform like they're supposed to. They also give you more options that other manufacturers don't give you, like primary size, collector size, etc.

In my opinion, the wait is worth it, but we do recommend that if you are on a tight schedule, let us know so we can confirm with any of the manufacturers how long it may take to ship (if it's a system that we don't already have in stock).

normally the popular items go pretty quick with all the brands.

within about 5 days. i tt kooks and they did have some supplier issues that have backed them up some.

I just got my Kooks headers a couple days ago from the vendor I used. I ordered on Jan 20 and they were not coated. They sure do look very nice.

Been using Kooks for years and will never use anyone else. I know there are other good brands but my experience with Kooks has been exceptional. Some of the best craftsmanship I've seen, you won't be disappointed.

Ive had Kooks w my past Mustangs as well. Great product great quality no fitment issues. It was my first Mod on my S550 and I got it before my Corsa Cat back.

Wait for the Kooks, I replaced some cheap BBK's that had rotted off my car with them on my 04' and they were worth the wait, absolutely beautifully made products!

no major production problems that i can tell. only complaint i had was there was still metal chips inside the headers (from the cutting process i imagine) cant figure out why they wouldnt wash them out after cutting before welding. Took about 2 weeks to receive..
Still even with that, it is a well designed and produced product.

I've heard with kooks the 02 sensors do not need to be relocated to avoid issues with e85 , is this true? Anyone with first hand experience care to chime in about the 02 bung angle on Kooks LT's?

I have seen a wide range in pricing on some systems from different retailers... has anyone experienced systems being knocked off and rebadged or "fake" systems?

I installed Kooks 1 7/8 and I did not have to relocate the O2 Bung and the e 85 lund flex tune had zero issues. You also don't have to remove the AC bolt as the Kooks clear it no problem, or should I say, it has plenty of room on my 15 GT.

I did usu the supplied O2 extension for the rear O2 sensor that was included and the quality if the extension was top notch and no problems with it.

This is great news and the confirmation I was looking for. I had kooks on my old c6 and the fit and finish was 2nd to none. I too am running a flex tune and blend or run e85 quite a bit. Was just trying to make sure I won't have to relocate bung after install. How often do you use e85 or blend fuel? Sometime folks don't have issue for a couple thousand miles is why I ask. Are the extensions needed to reach? Thanks for your helpful information :cheers:

After breaking bread and a few beers with the owner of Kooks I won't use anyone else

These are the only headers to

Run e85 with no mods
Not have any fitment issues
No metallic buzzing sound

Plus their a ML header which helps us torqueless Paxton users make power ;)
