I know you inquired about Kooks LTHs, but I wanted to let you know that Ultimate Headers 1 7/8 LTHs do clear everything (including AC) with no massaging needed. Here’s a pic of the passenger side showing distance between the frame rails and AC line bracket. I would estimate at Least 1/2” from from rail and (although it may not look like it in the pic), 1/4-5/16 from the AC line bracket/stud. I am running Steeda’s adj. motor mounts with engine lowered 1/4”.

2V heads require a more refined header whereas 4V can afford to be a sloppy design and still make great power.

With open collector race headers I think there is merit to the collector “choke” that Calvin Elston uses on his headers but again the collector choke is more effective on 2V heads than 4V.

You might want to spend some time on Don Terrell’s Speed Talk and search Calvin Elston. Calvin is a Wizard.

If you want 2.00" primary 4:1 headers go for it. This isn't old school 2V non-VVT flow dynamics.
Thanks for link, ill definitely do some reading. Im a Honda tech, and i know alot of the guys run big tube headers with megaphones.

I think im going to pull the trigger on the 2" primaries though, and hopefully get it on the dyno this spring.

If it is all out race lose the AC. I believe the 2 in primaries might impact the AC lines, and they will be closer to the frame. You don't want them touching anything and causing a false knock.

That being said some brands 1-7/8 have these same problems.
Im hoping they mean it needs to be removed to install the headers, not to use them.

I know with Kooks you can keep AC.

Thats actually another concern of mine. Will the 2" clear everything with the engine lowered, as i have a CJ manifold to install as well. But, once again i havent decided if im going to drop the engine or run a different hood.
