id try draining your oil before you do anything and go from there, check for metal. it sounds exactly like my buddies cobra did. it was rod knock. he replaced heads, timing chain etc etc hoping it wasn't...

just because no one has has had an issue yet doesn't mean your bulletproof and nothing can happen.

I'm not saying this is the cause, but I personally think that's a very thin oil for "heavy duty" use. I wouldn't run a thin oil in something seeing boost regularly.

Again, not saying it's the cause, but it may have contributed. If you look at what Ford recommended for their factory supercharged engines and what is recommended for the ecoboosts it tends to be thicker.

Not apples to apples because they're different engines all together, but I feel it's worth thinking about. I hope it's fixed reasonably easily and that you're on the road with even more boost and power for the long haul.

Can see some silver mixed in with the black. Not sure if all the black was paint off the plug, or bearing shavings, but the silver flakes stand out in person

My money is on the bearing. I'd send a sample of the oil off just because I'd want to know more about it.

Yes however a unboosteed stock car can be fixed under warranty and it's also way more unlikely to occur on a stock vehicle compared to a boosted, tuned one.

Such a bummer. I'm sorry man. Curious to see the root cause of the issue.

If this happened to me I'd go ahead and build the motor to prevent rework in the future.

That's the risk you take when modded. Hopefully he has a mod friendly dealer available to him

The shops going to try and find out what caused the problem before it gets fixed. So hopefully I can have an answer.

Exactly what you said. I knew the risk before I made the choice to boost. I'm going to do a little research and talk with the builder to see what route I will go. It'll range anywhere between just repairing it to throwing a 632 with twin 98 pro mod turbos on it  in all seriousness, I've been talking with the old lady, and We are thinking about going wirh a stronger built bottom end or a built short block
