driving for 4 hours with something bulky in my pocket gets tiresome.
my wife has a current Nissan X-Trail with this keyless ignition, my statement still stands in my mind

well put it in that pocket right next to it..

if you think those keys feel bulky in your pocket, try wearing something that is not so tight on your ass and it can make a difference... I.e. loose fitting clothes..... just a thought

Carry my wallet in my back pocket... Wouldn't want to be sitting on / potentially breaking keys.

More importantly... So there's an emergency key hole in the door in case of dead battery. What about the trunk? My second biggest fear about my current mustang, after getting a flat with no spare, is getting a dead battery with my jumpers inaccessible in the trunk.

the problem i have with keyless ignition is you have to find somewhere to put it once you're in the car. at least with a normal ignition start you push the key in a slot and it "hangs" where it needs to be
See four posts up from yours for an illustration of where to place it if you don't want to keep it in your pocket. ;)

As for the key fob, you could put it in the nice new storage cubby in front of the shifter and below the radio if you don't want to keep it in your pocket.

I thought it was amusing that this photo was posted in this thread and yet there was still talk about where to put the key.

there you go..

it slides into your rear pocket right next to your wallet.. spare emergency key is hidden inside.. you cant break anything.

dead battery works the same as every other car with keyless entry.. unlock car with key hidden inside fob, open hood jump car..

nothing new here..

my mazdaspeed3 had keyless, really miss it!

There is no Key Hole for accessing the Trunk. The only thing there is, is the small Rubber Switch Pad located right above the License Plate. It's a shame the Trunk Release is Power Activated. My Honda Accord Coupe has a Cable Activated Release. Pull Up to open the Trunk and Push Down to open the Locking Fuel Door. It looks like going through the back seat is the only option if the Battery Dies.

That wouldn't work on the convertible though, right?

I attach the FOB to a belt loop with a small carabiner. There are other clasps that would work as well. Have done this since 2005 (Infiniti G35) and now my Taurus SHO and Vette.

That's what I was thinking of doing..... and getting those shopper cards on it too... if not separate
