PROGRAMMING KEYS

Does anyone know if a auto key can be programmed to run with a manual... I lost my key and friends gave me his spare since his car was sold . Can ford program the auto one for me.

But it requires the 2 original keys... Don't know if it will work ... :shrug:

I would assume it would work, just the remote start button would do nothing.

Is it just a myth that you can set engine perameters to each key. Our salesman stated (havent looked in manual yet) that you can set speed, rpm, etc to each fob... limiting its performance.

I.E. if you were letting your kid drive it, you could "limit" performance to your liking linked to the key fob.

yes you can and I have done it

The owners manual can be a valuable source of information.

you will need two Masters to program a new key yourself, including a MyKey. If you just have the one and the new key, you will probably have to hike on over to the dealership. Can't say for sure on the auto but I think just the FCC ID's have to match.
