We all saw it or heard of it. Nothing new, been happening for a long time already. Doesn't really matter. Just don't keep valuables in your car and make sure you have insurance.

I bought a faraday bag for like $30 on Amazon. I drop the key fob into it when I get home from work and that's that. $30 for a small piece of mind.

Don't the S550 Mustangs have rolling security codes for the fobs?

It does but so what - the thieves basically amplify the signal from the car to the fob and from the fob to the car tricking the car to "believe" your fob is close to the door. It is still your fob "answering"

Just get one of those aluminum foil lined potato chip bags to keep your fobs in. Will Smith did it in the movies and it worked great.

Theives gonna theif. Buy insurance and know that its just a car, it can easily be replaced, especially a current production model like our s550's

None of this keeps the guy from picking it up on a wrecker. A lot of people won't question a guy once he says "repo".

Even worse the intelligent thieves can also steal your car just as easy.

They amplify your key, plug in a laptop to OBD port and programme a new blank key and drive away.

They can do this all in around 60s !!

I took following precautions:

- Fobs stored in Fob guard pouches.
- Fobs then placed into metal tin
- Car has a steering lock anti-theft device
- OBD port is gorilla taped up

Done what I can, will slow them down for sure! :)

I own a garage queen S197 in MINT condition, and my Mustang can"t be replaced, and to my dismay it"s NOT in production any more.My protection isn"t tin foil,it"s a Taurus Judge.

I wear a tinfoil hat for this very reason.

Get out of my head, charlessss

(but seriously: the more advanced anti-theft technology gets, the more clever thieves become. its nothing new. it will never stop. just have good insurance, or put one of those tracker chips into your car if you really want it back after it's been stolen. I probably wouldn't)

Order the security package. Nothin' says I ain't movin' better than a hard locking steering column with the wheels cut all the way to the left or the right on a RWD car

If anybody is interested in a encloser bag, I can get bulk 4x6 or 5x8 ones that I'd sell for $10 bucks each. I can get smaller but figured a 5x8 is plenty big enough for your cell phone. If I get enough people interested i'll order some. pm me on facebook if interested with size or email [email protected] or leave message on here. They are reclosable. Will order the most popular size
