KB has been around a long time. Their S/C setups are top notch. Whipple is popular here, they have a forum presence and all. Go over to a GT500 forum and KB rules the roost.

If you can get a KB at a discounted price, doe your research and get it. They are every bit as good as whipple, and some would argue even better. Depends on who your speaking with in the end.

Does your buddy have the 2.8 or 3.2?
Doesn't the 2.8 spinup boost before the 3.2? When talking with KB on the phone they steered me towards the 2.8lc vs the 3.2lc.

I think it would hit a little harder at the start, but require more boost to get the same power as the 3.2. 12 psi as opposed to 10.5 etc

Well for instance, if octane is an issue id go 2.8
I'm running the biggest pulley they make, a 4" and i'm seeing 12psi.
Not really too friendly with 91 octane if that's the only thing in your area.

Is the whine louder than the 2.8 on the 3.2? And 12 psi is a lot for longtubes and the biggest pulley, but you're getting good power from it.

I have zero whine with the 3.2... it's very very sad :(

I don't spin the blower fast enough for it to make a peep other than the whistle at idle and slight throttle in low rpm.
Great power across the board though she just keeps pulling.
I don't care to run a smaller pulley to make more power, i just wanna hear her whine when I get on it :) That'd probably be the biggest smile maker if e85 ever came to my area.

You could always get the sound tube mod for yours. Shawn foster makes one that routes the sound to the cabin. Around a 50-75% increase in sound I think.

There's zero audible indication even with hood up on a dyno. It's a large blower barely being utilized. Kind of doubtful on the sound tube mod with my setup, but I have seen it before.

What was the torque on your dyno pull?

On the mustang dyno, I couldn't tell you to be honest. The shop owner was saying some bs about how it wouldn't show it or something.
When the car was Lund tuned making 696 on a dynojet, i think it was around 515.
But I can't give you an honest answer. I'll try to get it back on that dynojet so I have a more accurate comparison between the two tunes.

Sounds like PBD hooked you up with better numbers on a mustang dyno

More than that man, I made a post about it when I first got tuned by Ken Bjonnes. My average MPG went from 13-15mpg with Lund, to 16-18MPG with PBD. The car's obviously making a good amount more power, 696 with lund on a Dynojet, and 711 with PBD on a mustang dyno. The driveability of the car vastly improved, before with Lund partial throttle the power was unpredictable. You could be driving on an onramp and the power would just come on like a lightswitch and you'd be sideways. PBD the power is a LOT more predictable. The power is a lot more linear. Whenever I see a post about forced induction tunes I try to state my piece. I'm sure not a lot of people have experienced both as I have. I drove around about a year with Lund and now about a year with Ken. I will give it to Lund for their customer support. They are a LOT faster, but any gripes I had about the tune, seemed like I was bothering them in their emails.
Ken was a lot more approachable, but it takes a lot longer to get a response/revisions.

I've heard a lot of great things about both, annd especially PBD as most people I ask recommend them. Do you know if they tune dw injectors? I heard they didn't. Will probably email them some time next week once my kit ships out.

I couldn't tell you if they do or not with DW injectors. I'm running ID's.
But for quick questions you can get ahold of the shop with facebook. Either their PBD page, or straight from Ken Bjonnes personal FB page.
I've messaged him on there and gotten responses within the hour.

PBD does not tune DW injectors.
