If you're under 1000 HP, then the 55's may have the advantage. Fastest mustang in my area has twins, and consistently beats everybody else around here.
I have had a lot of trouble roll racing VMP cars. They are very fast and work well with it. VMP 2650, e85, and 80mm pulley will probably get you to mid 800's.
Do you guys actually tell the insurance about your modifications? As far as I see it, almost half of the production cars today have forced induction, and it really shouldn't matter much. If you wreck it, you probably won't be compensated for the mods, but that's all that happened on mine
As far as power curve, I was not referring to dyno graphs. I fail to see how a TVS style could have a torque curve much better than the one above, though. Just from feel, it felt like at equal boost compared to mine, the VMP had a stronger low end (3000-4500). Above that, the twin screw feels...
Can't go wrong with either one. I have ridden in a Whipple and VMP, and even though I have a twin screw Kenne Bell, I think I prefer the feel and power curve of the VMP.
Just mountains of bills, including buying a new house, new A/C unit, car payment, and the fact that I have tuition and am still just a 21 year old senior in college. But a fuel system will be on the way shortly based on these answers.
Debating on buying a fuel system, but not sure if it's worth it or not. Not chasing numbers or track times, just a weekend fun car. Faster is ALWAYS better, but wondering how much of a difference in feel there actually is between 93 and e85. Thoughts?
I got my kenne bell tuned by Dakota at Lund, and he dialed it in in 3 hours. Drives just like stock. WOT is perfect. No complaints. Pretty sure his personal car is a whipple
I'm currently getting my ice tank fixed and routed correctly for my 3.2 KB setup. Just wondering if anyone else uses a 7 gallon trunk mount tank, and what their IAT's were before and after adding ice. On a 90* and humid day, IAT's are around 127 cruising and 135 in traffic. Hoping to get down...
Those tires should work fine under 750 whp. I have the nt05R and survived more than once in the rain, just don't give it more than 20% throttle. They've lasted over 7k miles too with not much wear still, so the 555R should last longer. However, I still haven't done even one burnout on them, so...
If the knock is increasing with RPM, I think that means it's fuel related. Most likely just a bad tank of gas. Try to run it down, go to a reputable station, and then add some torco like you said. That should clear it up.
Put some VP octanium in the tank, let it mix, and try again. If the readings go down, it's fuel. Also, make sure advancetrac is off. After these two are complete, it will most likely be solved. If not, check headers and exhaust, bolts etc.
Also, is the knock increasing with rpm or decreasing...
you shouldn't be able to hear the twin screws much, if it all from inside the car until you really up the boost. At 10 psi or so, I couldn't even hear mine at all with my 3.2 KB
I had the exact same blower setup and could never figure it out. Went over the whole car over 10 times throughout 3 months. Ended up selling the kit and no knock since.
