So, I am concerned that I think the back of the seats would be red in this configuration. which while you don't see them much, could be a bit too much?
I have no idea, but that would seem odd to do. I imagine Katzkinz will do it any way the buyer wants it...

Only thing I don’t like about my Katzkins is that the seat back cooling function is nonexistent. They don’t use perforated back material like the stock seats, I went back and forth with them on that. Our seat back cooling is crappy anyway from the factory because there’s nowhere for the warm air to escape, and the Katzkins made it worse.

Good to know ahead of purchase. Thanks!

Interesting Mike as all the pics show what looks to be a perforated back. Is this just for show? Honestly doesn’t make sense.

Apparently the Katzkinz cooling option has a true cooling module under the seat VS OE ambient floor air temp, which can work well if have floor ac on very cold.
I'm pretty sure the mustang is actively cooled, as the parts diagram shows a TED. The trucks went to ventilated instead of cooled somewhere around 19-20 though.

Yes, that is correct. It has Peltier module for heating and cooling (thermoelectric device = TED).
It works fine for me with regular premium steats, it's more noticable and quicker for seatbase than backrest but great to have in hot weather, combined with AC it works great.

The set I received had no rear perforations. When I questioned Katzkin via the seller I was told it has never been an issue. Tags on the covers say Katzkin but I bought them thru an EBay seller so maybe they’re counterfeits?

Maybe not counterfeit, but custom covers someone backed out of getting installed? Or maybe B stock / incorrectly made?

My katzkins seat backs are perforated. I bought them from an Ebay seller, and gave them the customized options I wanted.
Came to me in a katzkins box exactly as ordered with the order form in the box.
I also got the matching door inserts for free.

Edit to add: the seller did have some color combinations already made (with and without perforation, etc) that could have been shipped immediately, but they also offered customization which took about 2 weeks to make before being shipped.

Interesting. My '20 is passive so I just turn on footwell AC along with dash and works well enough plus it helps with Audison amp convection cooling just enough since its mounted in drivers kick panel.

I will get Katzkinz next spring. I think the diamond or similar perforated will give a lot more breathing thanks to the quilted air gaps from pattern and more flex with out stretching leather.

May they can replicate the Urus pattern. I will buy direct since they back up install 100%. The service has been amazing... just asked to send me vinyl samples on top of the leather ones already sent.....since will be in a vert ....maybe I can be lazy with sunscreen management.

Got some samples from leatherseats.com was good service untill had to deal direct with arrogant local installer....don't want the hassle.
