So i've been e85 tuned since april 2019 and have always heard or read about this KAM reset thing but never really cared to try it and when i did try once, i couldn't find the option on my nguage. so after further reading, i learned i needed to update my firmware to version 326, doh!!.

well all said and done the kam reset fixed a number of issues my 2018 had, for one i could never get my ported stock tb working flawlessly without that initial hickup when first getting on it and my a10 shift points were either lagging of shifting too early on part throttle, my idle would sometimes stumble and stall the engine and other gremlins, etc.

now after finally doing a kam reset, it feels like a new car, 10r80 shifts are on point at any throttle position, my short term fuel trim is no longer all over the place and the car actually runs faster lol, anyways just wanted to share :) whenever you add a new mod, do a kam reset :)

I am running a flex tune and after every fill I have to do a KAM reset. The car learns the fuel before it empties the lines.

KAM reset kills learned variables such a fuel trims etc. Comes in handy for many different things.

From a handheld tuner such as BDX or nGuage. Or if no tuner disconnect negative battery terminal for at least 30 min and should accomplish the same.

It does a KAM reset when you swap to a different tune, doesn't it? I've had my flex tune run really rough till it adjusts to the alch % and the fuel trims start to learn once swapping from 93 to E85.

Don’t think it is just one KAM reset and done. Lol. Report back after 1000 miles. ;).

I reset mine after every fill up.

Yup I'll do one every few fill ups, or any time I switch fuels to speed up the learning.

Silly question, but is there anything that indicates that it worked? IE if you disconnect the negative terminal for 5 minutes vs 30 is there something that let's you know it's been accomplished or not?

I think if you connect the + & - cables together after removing both from your battery, it doesn’t matter how long you have to wait. But one thing I can tell you, I’ve done battery resets in the past but with a kam reset my car just runs even better for some reason.

The clock at least for me is 2 hours ahead after the dome lights flicker when using the BDX. But device also says complete lol.

First start after KAM reset the car will idle high longer than normal. ;)

Your car will relearn all it’s bad habits over time btw.
