Has anyone purchased a K&N filter for their Mach 1? When I go to their website, the only things that come up are mustang, mustang GT and GT500. They don’t even put Mach 1 or the GT350 on their search list. I’m just checking before I buy the Steeda one. I’ve always used K&N and just wanted to check.

I have a K&N on my truck and the airraid on my mach 1. Cleaning the K&N with KN cleaner adds to its overall cost. It also takes time to recondition. As it is new, I dont know how maintaining the Air raid will cost me. Something to consider.

Who cares about the cost, which one is better.

Search You Tube David Vizard K&N Filter. He makes some sense of how a K&N works. If it works for you, fine. Me, I will stay with the Airraid

Yeah, and puts in big letters AIRAID on it... 🤣

Better in terms of particle size and quantity in most cases the stock filter
If engine durability is important to you (which also depends on how much dirt the engine eats), then an open-pore filter that adds a tenth of a percent more power is rarely a good choice.

K&N is then the worsest of worst filters, which not only let larger particles through, but also oils up the MAF sensor, if not maintained correctly.

I work part time at O Reilly and I also have the K&N filter on my Mach 1.

The Part number for it is E0649.

I used my discount & a gift card from collecting battery drop offs.

Whatever you do, don't forget to put the sticker on your radiator cover.

So I purchased the green filter from Steeda. It works quote well. Looks great with EG like yours. Also since I now have a whipple, I am no longer on need of it. If you want it, I'd sell it and ship it to you cheap. Shouldn't be too much to ship from NorCal to you in Anaheim.

Use -

Airaid Air filter for the Mach 1, Part #863-399.
You will save at least $30.

Thank you!
K and n support events and racing . I support those that support the automotive hobby and racing.
Yup it cost a little more but it is the difference of having events and racing and tracks to race on or not.
I value having places to enjoy the automotive hobby and motorsports and support them. But as they say YMMV.

FYI -
The $30 difference that I mentioned in my reply was the cost difference between the Ford Performance filter versus buying the air filter directly from Airaid.
