Ok, my comment about the interior was really intended as a comparison against cross-shopped competitors. I wasn't considering MB C classes, etc. Still, for the price, performance level, etcetera, the interior in the 2015 is extremely good.

Yea..The Mustang is never getting close to the new C class. C class starts at 38k and even that model has a ridiculously awesome interior. It is one of the best interiors I've ever seen on any car let alone 40k and less.

While I agree that the C class interior is epic, the one in this photo is the 2013 interior. To be fair to the Mustang here's a pic of the 2014 C class interior:

It might only reinforce the point, but now we're comparing the 2 current interiors in each respective car. For me the Mustang interior has a more sporty appearance while the MB comes across more luxurious.

Until I have personally sat in the Mustang I'll reserve my opinion on the quality until then.

You're really cross-shopping a Mustang and a Mercedes?

I can't believe you are comparing a luxury sedan to a sports car. Not fair in my view but honestly, do you really want to see faux wood inside a sports car? Not me... brushed aluminum to nickel finish or the like is better...you could go luxury sports but they are more expensive... the C class is the bottom of the line entry level mercedes if I am correct

Haha my dealer just got one of those, the interior is nice but way too busy. The center screen is just sitting there on the dash, no integration at all. The seats are not nearly as comfortable as the Mustang's with the Premier leather. All in all, I'd take the 2015 Mustang with 68B over the C-Class even if the Mustang were more expensive.

Im not busting the guys chops. Im simply pointing out that there are some incredible interiors under 40k. The Mustang interior is awesome but the interior is only one of the focuses in a sports car of this class. In a luxury car its one of if not the most important focus and hence where they dump a great deal of investment and purchase price into the car. Its all in where a company spends their money. The Mustang is never going to have an interior on par with a Benz or a Lexus because they have other places to spend their money to meet the cost requirement....If it comes down to go fast or interior, I pick going fast and hence why I would buy a Mustang over a Benz.

And yes I would love to have this level of interior in my car, however. There are faster cars in the world but my dream car is the Huayra and its because the car is blazing fast but every single detail in the interior is painstakingly crafterd by artisans..Its the Michael Angelo of automobiles. I sat in one and you could literally sit there for hours and gawk at the details.

Granted Im shopping a Mustang and not a Huayra.:D

What tbonz posted was the C205 2015 C-Class, not a 2013. Comparing the new Mustang to the old C-class would not be very relevant.

Not to mention that interior came out in 2011 as a 2012 model year.

The thread got a bit out of hand... it started with a joke about OP saying the S550 had the best interior in a car under $40k lol. The 2015 W205 C is getting rave reviews. Lots of journalists are calling it MB's best interior next to the S-Class and a complete class killer for the entry luxury segment.

I keep hearing those ridiculous dash mounted screens are for safety reasons and all next gen models are being forced to go with them..Im not sure how the American vendors have been able to stay away from them..Audio, BMW, Benz are all going to them. I dont like the look of them at all...

I disagree with you here because after working for Mercedes for over 8 years I find Benz interiors exceedingly boring. Quality is top notch, but they just don't make you feel engaged with the car. My 2011 isn't a luxury car but echos the feel of the raw Mustang performance. The 2015 I sat in recently brings that feel back while at the same time brought the same level of quality that Benz and the other luxury car marques bring to their entry level models. The 2015 Mustang wins on interior feel and excitement.

Yeah I won't post again on Mercedes as it's way too easy for me to get carried away. The 2015 C-Class has a great interior, but I've also driven the S-Class and they really don't compare at all. The S-Class may as well be the starship Enterprise.
