OK. So I did a little test run tonight. It's good, but not as great as I had hoped. Again, I want to drive it in normal mode more than sport because I do a lot of city driving. The response in normal is better, but there were times when there's still a lag, mainly in the higher gears I think. I got a little tire spin with a light push on the pedal from stop. That never happened before the install. But at higher speeds (around 35-40), there is a noticeable lag.

I'll know more tomorrow when I take it for a longer drive. But so far, I would say 7/10. Maybe this will change tomorrow.

As for the snow/wet mode, yes, it's not the same. I would say that the snow/wet mode now is a little less than how the normal mode use to be. The throttle response is a little slower than how normal use to be. If you put in the chip that lessens the response to 60 percent, I think it should be fine.

Did you do a reset?

Reset. No. I wasn't aware of that. It wasn't in the instructions (unless I missed it). Explain the reset.
Someone earlier in the thread listed the steps, but basically you reset the throttle pedal reading. Also, if you didn't disconnect your battery that might be effecting your results.

I did remember someone mentioning that earlier in the thread. but now, I can't find it. :frusty:

I did not disconnect the battery. The instructions didn't say I needed to.

Can others confirm if I need to perform either or both these steps to get the optimal results.

Thanks for alerting me, Grim.

Found this in another thread:

"While watching the screen between the tach and speedo, turn the car on without using the clutch. Wait for the blinking icon to disappear; then depress the acclerator pedal to a 3 count: don't stomp the pedal. Once u reach the floor, quickly release the pedal, and u should see the engine icon blink about 5 times. After this happens, turn the car off for ten seconds, and then start the engine and enjoy (hopefully). Some people claim you have to repeat this process up to 3 times. Some claim it works, and some claim it does nothing. RMV... Good luck"

Is this the reset that needs to be done?

Ahh yes, that's what I remembered. But I don't have a clutch. I have an auto. So, I don't know how to do the reset with these instructions.

Can anyone confirm if I need to do this reset and the battery disconnect?

I never drive in normal mode. Why would u buy a performance mod if you're not going to be using a performance setting (track or sport+). Did you at least try it in Sport or track mode?

I drive in normal mode because the mapping in sports mode is not smooth. The car jerks too much when I slow down. Most of my time driving is around city. When the road is more open, then sport mode is a lot of fun. But sport isn't fun around the city.

What do you mean the negative terminal?

I see. Nevermind then lol

The battery terminal... My directions were explicit about this step.

I remember people mentioning unplugging the battery but only as a safety precaution, not as a necessity to receive optimal results.

Can you confirm this? If so, what do I need to do after I disconnect the negative terminal? Let it sit for a little? etc.?

Thanks.

According to my instructions, this step is necessary for the unit to function properly. Disconnect it, and wait 5-10 minutes or so.

Interesting. My instructions don't say that. I'll try this tomorrow. Is it just the negative terminal then? Did your instructions mention the throttle reset?
