just curious.. who has the best deal on the pedalmax?
Give us a call and we'd be glad to help you out. We also offer a coupon code for forum members which is "MUSTANG6G" when you order online. Let us know if we can assist any of you with the JMS line of products

So what does this do for the "Auto adaptive cruise" guys. Roush won't even install a supercharger on my car due to adaptive cruise. Does the pedalmax create a dangerous situation with adaptive cruise?

Should not change anything with adaptive cruise as it does not require input from the pedal to operate. All the PedalMax does is multiply pedal input signal to the throttle body to increase the open rate of the blade. If you don't touch the pedal, it won't do anything.

Interesting thought. I have nothing to back this up but I wouldn't think it would. Since it's basically wired into the pedal sensor, I would think it's effect would only be seen by the ECU when the pedal is being used. When you're in adaptive cruise, would the ECU even be "paying attention" to the gas pedal position?

I just installed a Pedalmax yesterday but I do not have adaptive cruise so I'm not sure.

And even if you touch the pedal, you'll only be sending an already-normal signal to the ECU. It'll just be a bit higher (but max out at 100% as always).

Resurrecting this thread after seven months :)

This is a mod I looked at last summer while out of town and was super excited about it and of course came home and forgot all about it. I was driving my car the other day (stock power) and was loving it as always but really just wanted a little more oomph and snapiness out of her. I don't want to do a tune or anything like that so I can preserve my warranty so I was thinking about maybe doing a FRPP power pack but even those are expensive and will void extra 100k mile warranty (sigh)

I all of a sudden remembered the JMS Pedalmax and all of the positive reviews I read about it. I went back to this thread and some other threads on the topic and was instantly sold once again! ordered one today and am so looking forward to see the results that everybody talks about!!

Ordered from Beefcake after shopping around and seeing that they had free shipping on orders over $200 (not to mention their discount code "gen6" still works!!) So thanks beefcake  Cannot wait to get this thing installed (although I am over 6 ft and am not a small guy so we shall see how the install goes )

I really like the improved response, but the throttle lag is still there. I wish there was a way to eliminate that besides a custom tune.

I gotta do this mod too this year. Feels like such a heavy sluggish car sometimes. ..So if later on if you go supercharger can the pedalmax remain?

I know what you mean. I don't plan on going FI for a long long time if ever but I have read earlier in this forum guys who have whipples really enjoy this mod. Type in supercharger of forced induction or blower or something like that in the thread search

For those who dont want to tune

Has anyone installed a JMS PedalMax on a 5.0 6 speed for pedal lag
Everybody that tunes and adjusts your ramp speed for the pedal, GREAT.

For those of us who don't want to tune the car due to warranty issues, this is a great alternative that gets you the better throttle response feeling out of the pedal without anybody ever being able to detect it on the computer.

I have had mine for about 5K miles and I love it. When I go to tune the car later on down the road...I may not need it but I will be curious to see what the difference is with/without it and the tune.

Initial Impressions

Got my JMS Pedalmax in the mail yesterday from Beefcake Racing and I want to share my initial impressions.

First off this thing is definitely a PITA to install. It is not difficult or particularly technical but getting down into the footwell and up behind the pedals is not an easy task, especially since I am 6'1" and over 200 lbs. That being said I finally got everything installed, took the advice of somebody on some thread and had my head down in the footwell with my feet up on the top of my driver seat .

I went with the control knob and I got that all installed. Right after I put it in I took the opportunity to go to home depot to get some 3m tape to mount my knob. I think it looks pretty cool.

I have to say that most of the positive reviews of this thing are spot on. It really does feel like the car gained a decent amount of torque. You hit the pedal and it just puts you back in your seat. I always felt like there was a little something missing and this really did the trick. On my way to home depot I went under a low and long overpass (basically a small tunnel) and put it in neutral and revved it and it revved SO much faster than without the Pedalmax. I was really surprised and it made me laugh, I am genuinely impressed with the thing.

Now it doesnt actually add horsepower as you know so it doesnt necessarily add a ton of power through the power band but it definitely makes the car feel more responsive and torquier (is that a word?).

Between this and my new FRPP Track pack my car is a newly transformed, warranty friendly beast.

If you are on the fence and don't want to tune for warranty reasons this thing is 100% the real deal and 100% worth the money.

So you're saying it adds power, just not a ton of it ?
