Would there be any issue running this without a tune and then getting a tune later? I'm thinking about going with the Ford Racing CAI and tune (I'm assuming they'll have one at some point), but since it's not out yet, I'd be running it without a tune for a while. I assume you can just unplug it if you don't like it or decide to run without it, correct?

Also, I saw that some have said they have a remote for it-what does that do, and is it necessary? Is it something that stays in the car at all times? Can you set your preferences without the remote?

Sorry for all the questions, I've never heard of this before, but it sounds like something I would enjoy having.

Are you guys installing this on non-Premium cars? If I want my wife's car to not feel numb I just put it into Sport.
This is a good question. How does it work with the different driving modes?

from my understaning the pedal max only changes the ramp rate of the throttle.
for instance on a stock vehicle for drivability and economy, when you push the pedal down 50% the computer opens the throttle blade 25%
put on the pedalmax and you push the throttle to 50% and the computer opens the throttle blade 50%, or its variable with the remote knob.

my Premium GT does that with the mode switch.
custom tunes also can alter the throttle map.

also, 100% throttle is 100% throttle. always. with some kits you can make 80% pedal 100% throttle.. you can make the rate high such that if you barley touch the gas it will just acell like a beast.

the but meter feels faster cause your accel more with less pedal effort.
my own opinion, its a nice mod but not needed for the premium cars.

Interesting write-up. I agree with what you're saying. They'd probably sell twice as many units if they dropped the price to $199 or less. I'm sure their cost well under $50

Wait so... a tune can't get the throttle response down to what this JMS can? I'm confused. I was under the impression that if you have a tune, you don't need this (eg. no benefit of this).

we recommend these typically to the guys not wanting to tune the car.

if your tuning the car, we can control the throttle blade through the tune

So I just installed one of these today and I got to say this is one of the best mods I've done to my car. I have been considering switching out my gear ratio to improve seat of the paints feel and after reading this thread decided to try this instead and it is incredible the difference it makes. You feel so much more connected to the car with zero delay in the throttle response. I definetly recommend this mod.

Do you have a tune? Auto or stick?

My car has a roush phase 1 blower and tune with a manual. It dynod 550 at the wheels but it just never felt that fast unless you really wound it up . I thought it was the gearing but this thing made a massive difference in feel. It really wakes up the throttle response and it feels like a high horsepower car now without having to wind it to 7 grand.

I like my Pedalmax. Even with a tune you can definitely feel the difference. It's night and day for me.
