Everything is small here. A quick Google and one can be yours for $9800.Ha! they are so tiny! I want one....
Do the wheel wells of the trailer get in the way of opening the car door? Not so much what I did to the car, but what I did for it.......
Four thousand mile round trip (MA to TX to MA) in five days, and I can now introduce you to the only dual escape door enclosed trailer I have ever seen. Mercedes Gullwing meets a trailer!
I have been dreaming this up for quite a while and finally got it all figured out. I am super happy with how it came out. It sure is going to make strapping the car down a BREEZE.
My weight distribution hitch was purchased when I had my F150 Limited, so the drop is just a little less than it needs to be, but the Raptor pulled the trailer effortlessly. The trailer itself pulls so well that I didn't even know it was there. A new drop hitch bar has been ordered to level the trailer. This picture doesn't capture the "front high" trailer stance, but it does show how the Raptor handles the trailer without squat, which is a win.
No, they are removable. I should have included pictures, but here you go.Do the wheel wells of the trailer get in the way of opening the car door?

ATC makes a great trailer, my friend just bought one (single escape door), but wow did he pay a lot more than I did. Comparably his has more options, but the price is out of reach for me to justify. Mine was noticeable less, but also noticeably more than the last trailer I built pre-COVID.Very cool. I had an atc single sided. The dual is a great idea. Can’t believe how the price’s have jumped on those in that last few years. You get what you pay for no doubt though. Quality is outstanding.
That may be THE nicest single vehicle trailer I have ever SEEN, Jaime! Wow it's gorgeous and, so "airy" with the doors open. Not so much what I did to the car, but what I did for it..
Thanks Kent, I have to agree with you, but I am biased because I designed it, haha. Yes the car fits great. I have some dialing in to do (wide body issues) and I will post up once I get it handled. That may be THE nicest single vehicle trailer I have ever SEEN, Jaime! Since you didn't strap the SE in for the photo shoot, I'm wondering if you have done a test load yet? Then again, perhaps you're waiting for the new drop hitch before testing the level.
Helluva score my friend.
Much to my surprise dual escape doors are not a standard offering. The trailer company I went with took 3 months to get the CAD sorted out because they have never built one. Phil's Trailer Sales in TX sells a lot of trailers, and they have never built a dual escape door trailer, from any of the manufacturers they offer.Hmm, seems something like that should be a standard offering.
That would be fantastic for strip cars in the summer months. Pull in between runs, and let the car bask in the shade with no issue opening either door.
