Does anyone else experience a whistle with their JLT intake when partial throttle is applied? It's annoying the sh*t out of me.
I do, I have no idea what it is. I thought it was a loose connection but everything is on tight. It really is annoying but I learned to live with it for now

I had the same thing. I believe it's because you can hear the air passing the throttle body with the less restrictive intake as with the stock intake it's muffled so you couldn't hear it.

Looks like I'll be finding a different intake then. That's too bad.

That's how you know it's working! Haha but no for real...large diameter, non restrictive intake tube, no silencer, larger less restrictive filter = intake suction sound. I love it personally. Can still hear it with the window down even after installing the Magnaflow Competition CBE.

Ford didn't put that silencer on the stock intake because they thought it looked cool it was to keep the intake quiet.

If I'm correct all aftermarket intakes make that noise. Well, all of the ones I've owned have. Current exhaust won't let me hear mine though :p

I don't hear it anymore after adding the long tubes.

It's definitely a whistle at partial throttle. WOT it obviously doesn't do it. But if I'm cruising around town it's definitely present and annoying.

Got the JLT and installed with SCT X4 (thanks Hypermotive) and Lund tune loaded (thanks Beefcake and Lund)! Only performance mods so far. With no exhaust I must say the JLT sounds amazing. To bad once the Corsa Extreme gets ordered and installed I'll never hear it again. Very noticeable difference from the tune and intake in the performance and responsiveness and today was very hot and humid. I will say this about the people talking about increased intake air temps. I watched them before and after the intake install. It does appear a few degrees hotter than the stock air box but like others mentioned I feel the added power from the increase in air flow would out way the few degrees of intake temp at stop go traffic. Also I must mention comparing these intake temps on both stock and JLT are noticeably higher than my 2013 with Airaid MIT and Roush airbox by an average of 5-10 degrees. Haven't done any highway with the JLT yet but with my 13 setup I was always 1-2 degrees colder than ambient. I have yet to see the 15 colder than ambient while cruising FWIW

Hi man, i have a question for you!
I had a 2013 GT with catback and high flow cats, and my 2015 GT with catback only seems to be really slower between 1000 and 3000 rpm and with worse throttle response. Did you feel the same? did the CAI-tune mod changed a lot your 2015?
Thanks!

I really don't remember what my 13 felt like stock. My 13 was dyno tuned with Long tubes and off road X and intake for a while. But from what I can remember of my 13 with those mods I honestly think the 15 pulls harder down low and up top even with stock cats and exhaust manifolds. Also my 13 had 3.31 gears and my 15 has the 3.73's so the down low acceleration difference could be chalked up to gearing. But even with the 3.73's I still think the my 15 would pull my 13 from a roll, definitely in 3rd and probably 4th. But I will never know for sure lol. But yes the tune greatly improved the both throttle response and performance in my opinion.

And to clarify the post you quoted of mine before it has been brought to my attention that it is impossible for my old intake setup on the 13 to bring IAT below Ambient temp by the 2* I claimed. I only reported what I saw the gauges tell me. And on multiple occasions while cruising on the hwy IAT was 2* colder then ambient. So I don't know what was broken the ambient temp gauge or IAT reading. The closest I have seen the JLT on my 15 get to was within +3-5* over ambient on the hwy with the cold weather we started to get at night here lately.
