I'll run the data logger on the SCT on the way to the dyno tomorrow and on the way home after the JLT/tune and post the results. I've seen 37° over ambient with the stock unit in traffic. Like stated earlier, the stock unit is typically 7° above ambient (normal driving conditions). Tomorrow is supposed to be slightly cooler than the past week (high around 88° it looks like).

In traffic, the stock unit read higher than 8* above ambient for me.

I'm running the JLT cold air intake with their SCT 93 octane tune.
It's wicked...

I saw 132* today at Drive Through with my stock intake. Its Hot AF in Texas. It cooled down a little bit on the drive back home. Got to 118*. I'm thinking the JLT intake would cool down quicker.

My observations thus far have been that they cool down at about the same rate. With that being said, the JLT never gets within degrees of the stock unit. This morning on the way to work (65° ambient temps) I saw a new lowest temp with the JLT at 8° above ambient. Like I mentioned before, I really dont know if there any negative effects with the higher temps in reality though. Does more air at higher temps = less air that is more dense because of the lower temps? I suspect the shear volume is more beneficial but I have no way to compare them back to back.

Edit: it was actually a little cooler at 6° above ambient.

For those that concerned with temps and heat soaking, would wrapping the intake tube with that heat wrap they have for headers do anything to lower temps at all?

Nah, the intake tube is plastic. Maybe those injen ones.

Anyone have a sound clip of before and after intake? Or is it not much of a difference.

With a factory exhaust the induction noise is insanity! Once the catback went on its a lot lest prononced, but still noticable.

Just to identify the difference, header wrap is designed to keep heat in. If you wrapped the intake you would something with reflective and thermal rejecting properties.
